Just got back from Cincinnati. Cross it off your bucket list. Might be different when Reds are in town but otherwise its eight hours and done.

 I'd go to visit Kings Island amusement park, but yeah... wait, how did you even fill eight hours there?

Hornets nest in a bush I was trimming. Got stung on the hand. These guys mean business had to be 50 around me before I even realized it. Pretty big nest too. Shut down operation. Going to get some killer spray foam and attack tonight. Crazy shit!

If they are still attacking you nearby right now, it helps to spray them with really soapy water, because it makes them struggle to fly and you can stomp them wearing boots.

Be safe taking care of it, these guys are nasty.

I feel your pain...literally. I have no idea when/why this started, but they can frequently be found nowadays in both the front and back of our house, which is unusual because it leads me to believe there's more than one nest, and we've never had them before. The ones we're dealing with are maybe 2.5x the size of an ordinary wasp, and appear to be a black color. I've gotten stung once already, and I've had a few near misses. And man, for a little stinger these things pack a wallop.

I got one on the forearm and my arm got severely inflamed. Eventually ended up making a paste out of Benadryl tablets which I spread on it, and it went down after a few days. But yeah, I have no idea why there are so many this year. Like I said, we've NEVER had them before.

Yeah they hit hard when they sting. Nests are hard to find I just stumbled into mine while trimming hedges. I got busy this morning. Going in for the kill tonight.

I might have it. I have to see a specialist at some point because my jaw "clicks" after having all four wisdom teeth taken out. It's not really painful at all, but it's incredibly annoying when you take into account that where the click occurs is about an inch from my ear canal.

I am super proud that Grace has been named to the USA rowing crew for the upcoming World Championships next month in Amsterdam. She will competing in the quadruple sculls (four people, two oars per person, no coxswain), which is an Olympic class boat. Unfortunately, because the USCIS doesn't do things on a days notice (or a month's, really), I can't be there to see it, but this is so so awesome and I'm happy to see her hard work pay off.
