Both Goodrow and Wheeler have been solid lately and been making more plays at both ends of the ice than Cuylle. Cuylle less than 7 minutes TOI last game.

Moved Trouba up so the order was:

5. Trouba

6. Zibanejad

7. Shesterkin

Then moved Zib down, so above is the new order.

That's what you get for passing up open nets, you fuckin nitwit.

Mika back to his best again the last few weeks. Even #5 feels low.

I've been one of Wheeler's biggest critics.  But he has been better integrated in the Kreider-Zib line, with points in 3 straight games and 5 out of the last 6.  He's still slow as hell and limited, but his savvy and game sense have allowed him to contribute at both ends of the ice.    I hate moving Wheeler over Vesey but 12 still is probably too low so I would advocate him higher on the list.

Miller for obvious reasons.

Schneider filled in quite adequately for Trouba and had himself a game. That was surprising.

Schneider is 22. Kind of silly to have your mind made up about a defenseman who was a late 1st rounder and is normally paired with the worst defensive defensemen on the roster.

Schneider is just fine.

Hes exceeded expectations.

And still improving

Panarin-Trocheck-Lafrenière is line most consistently generating scoring chances, including against Panthers.  Lafrenière has points in 4 of the last 5 games.

Miller has been noticeable in joining the rush and generating chances, including against Panthers.  Miller also has been better (although certainly could still improve) in the defensive zone.

Gustafsson-Schneider played about 12 minutes last night and Schneider has been better lately - I don't think they should be ranked 5 spots apart.  IMO, players like Vesey and Cuylle have been more valuable than Gustafsson so I see Gustafsson as 16ish and Schneider as 17ish with Bonino dropping.

I know this is going to sound so last month but Blake Wheeler is much higher than he should be.  I'd have everybody down to Goodrow's spot higher than him.  Wheeler 16, Goodrow 17 looks right to me.

I was watching Wheeler last night and for all the times he is in a play he is still usually a half step behind it and slow to adjust.

Vesey is good. Othmann led the team in shots and had some giddy up in his step.
