Puck Head
I couldn't get my son on skates at 4. I think we started when he was 6. Spent 1/2 of first season pushing a bucket around

Puck Head
That's what we did last year lol Yep, I started my son pretty late. Age 6 did the small ice development thing. Age 7, (just starting to skate), did our Mite development. Was 2-3 years behind on his development within his birth year.

Ya, i've been letting my son take his own strides in hockey. So far so good. But if I had a grandons...not sure I could be so calm and cool
Dunny
Dad's a fantastic coach with a wealth of experience but I wish he understood that there's more to life. He had my wife/kid over for a Ranger playoff game this year while I was on the road, he texted me something along the lines of "Kids more interested in Power Rangers than New York Rangers" lol.. Well no shit.

Well no shit. I never became a fan of the NHL till my mid 20's, (when I stopped playing). My son watches around 5 minutes of NHL hockey a month. Zero interest. He's like me, why watch what you could be doing.
Mike
Slow start for Michael's squad, but they were 2 NL games against older teams. They lost 4-2 with an EN, and 6-3. They took a ton of penalties in both games (chalk it up to rust...I hope) and they out shot the first team 37-28. Their league has 19 teams and only 2 of them are younger. They're going to be a good team this season. More importantly, all of the coaches, parents and kids are great and he's adjusted well to everyone, and vice versa. It's going to be a fun season. Dunny
York/Simcoe is the next AAA program over from ours. Barrie area.
Puck Head
The York team we played was their Major Pee Wee AAA. Figured you had heard of them. Some of their opponenst so far have been... Oshawa Iceland Chicago Mission Wood Haven Central Ontario Oshawa Barrie ? Peterborough Evinrude North Central Rama Whitby Markham Clarington I'm not familiar with many of these teams. Nor do I know how York stacks up against them. We beat them 5-1 which appears to be their worst loss this season

Puck Head
Those Ontario teams can't be AAA are they? I have no idea. The only team website I went to was the York Team. And they have themselves listed at AAA Major Pee Wee
Puck Head
Wait, you guys don't even have AAA at the Pee Wee level do you? Isn't the highest AA in Ontartio until Bantams?
Dunny
No, we have pee wee AAA.. I know York-Simcoe is AAA, but centers like Clarington and Whitby are pretty small.
Puck Head
So York would be considered legit? The Little Ceaser's team is typically top 5 in the US for Pee Wees, and we didn't have much issue with them.
Dunny
York Simcoe Exress are a legit AAA program, but probably a second tier team behind the big boys. So much depends on the year though.

So much depends on the year though. It's hard to tell with these things. Also it's pretty freakin early in the season to figure anything out. For all I know York saw a team from Alaska and made his kids play off handed :)
