That’s not the outcome that we were looking for. It's not the result. I don't think that guys didn't show up and play hard. They did, but Vegas capitalized on their chances. We couldn't get them to drop.” — Peter Laviolette on the Rangers loss to Vegas GIF to LOL:
Art20c Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Interesting how they drafted byfield as a center and moved him to the left, we drafted laf as a left and moved him to the right. I remember tons of discussions how rangers might chose c instead of winger. Now looking back, should drury have traded 1st overall for a second?

With Panarin and Kreider in hand drafting a LW was asking for trouble and trouble we got. Should the Rangers have let the pick go for immediate help? Probably.
Ozzy Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Time to watch this one in a new spot. Gotta change our luck a bit! 1
RJWantsTheCup Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Lafraniere was the consensus #1. The Rangers weren’t drafting anyone else. Who knows what they were offered for the pick but in hindsight yes they were better off trading the pick.

We weren't at the beginning of a rebuild we were in compete now mode and given everything else taking Laf was like being in have your cake and eat it too mode. This primarily because we already had two top 6 LW's and he wasn't going to get PP opportunities, etc.

Valriera Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Taking bonino out of the lineup is akin to moving out of Florida
fletch Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I legitimately thought about making coffee for a west coast hockey game. I used to regularly stay up past 2 AM easily. Kids, some day you too will get old. 1

Parsley Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) 3rd string Goalie in vs Rangers? Oh boy…. Edited January 21 by Parsley 1

Cr00zng Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Hello Blueshirts!!!! 2024 had not been kind to the Rangers, 3-5-1 so far. Time to right the ship, LGR!!!!
Bugg Posted January 21 Posted January 21 If MSG doesn't break format to show what ever pregame tribute the Kings have for Quick, that's disgraceful, but typical.
