ClearedForContact
The New York Rangers’ rebuild has officially begun! Fresh off the heels of sending Nick Holden to Boston on Tuesday, the Blueshirts have dealt Michael Grabner to the New Jersey Devils. Yup. Seriously. The Devils. ThirtyONE
Who'd we get? They said the price was a 2nd and "something" a few days ago. Wonder what "something" means.
Shane Falco
You know the Rangers are in the crapper when they're dealing with the Devils of all teams. :banghead:
Mike
They couldn’t get a 2nd and a prospect from any other teams ? If Grabner helps them win 1 playoff game I’m gonna lose my shit.

I don't see the Devils winning shit this year... I'd rather trade him to them than the fucking Penguins
Kevin
Rykov's stock was really rising. Have a lot of family members that are Devil's fans that started touting him this year.

Scott
I don't care he got traded to the Devils but the prospect was a 5th rd pick drafted at 132. They didn't get much of anything for Grabs and that sucks. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=191613
Shane Falco
I'll be happier if we stick it to the devils and Grabner resigns for a good price leaving NJ with shit.

These middle of the road russian prospects seem to drop more than a similar North American player just due to the uncertainty of them actually coming over. ThirtyONE
Stock the cupboards. I like it. 2nd and a player for a 3rd liner is fine. I don't care what team he goes to. First Rangers/Devils trade ever. Pretty cool.

With how shitty our D is can't hurt to have as much competition as possible for those 6 spots next season
Rangers4Life
2nd rounder and a prospect, what more did we expect?

ThirtyONE
2nd rounder and a prospect, what more did we expect? exactly. It's pretty damn good. 20 years old in the KHL. He can potentially play next year.

LindG1000
Rising star in their system, and a teammate of Shestyorkin.
Parsley
Devils aren’t going anywhere this year. Hopefully Grabs resigns with the Rangers.
Phil
And who's to say he definitely comes over here? No one. But he is playing on the same team as Kovalchuk (heavily linked to NYR) and Shestyorkin, whom the Rangers clearly have close eyes on, so they've definitely gotten a close look at Rykov. Myusername
And who's to say he definitely comes over here? Yeah there's always that chance, but why wouldn't he? He plays on the same team as Shesterkin apparently, btw, so I'm sure the Rangers have seen a decent amount of him while watching the other Igor

Scott
I guess if Kovalchuk excites you as being a key part of a rebuild this works well too in assuming they both end up here.
