I think Sam or someone mentioned during the broadcast that he's trimmed some weight and made other adjustments ostensibly so that he can finally stick in the NHL. So it makes sense that he's been more effective this go-around. If he keeps this up I'm sure they can find a spot for him somewhere. If he doesn't than at minimum he's already helped us win two games and will be a solid option in case of injury

I know it seems bleak but I think there's still a good bit of untapped potential with Laf. I would at minimum see how does under another coach. I'd hate to discard another player for scraps and watch him light it up elsewhere. Too much trauma already

Let's see if the Devils make a series of it. My prediction is they will win a game or two but Carolina will shut it down after. Still can't believe we couldn't beat these twats after outscoring them 10-2 in the first two. One of the most spineless Rangers teams I can recall. I hope it at least leads to some positive change but this team needs a major overhaul imo

I'm not ready to dismiss Zib yet as he was a warrior for us in last year's playoffs. He wasn't great this year but you can tell he has some semblance of what it takes to win games in the postseason. Meanwhile Panarin is as hopeless as can be

I'm not giving up on the youngsters yet, but if there isn't a notable breakthrough next season it's going to be a bleak next decade. Imagine if even one of Kakko, Laf or Chytil were anywhere even remotely in the same ballpark as Hughes. We'd probably be discussing the next round right now rather than grieving

Where are we getting that though? Othmann is maybe the only player we have that fits that mold but his skating will be a huge obstacle at this level. All of the other prospects we have that are enough remotely tough don't have anywhere near top 6 potential
