Rangers in 6.  The most interesting twist will come when Jarry returns in Game 5.

I know the speculation now is that he’s day to day and can come back later on this series. But, I really don’t know. He was in a boot, and from what I read, for their team picture he actually was put in a chair and pushed across the ice to be in it. I don’t see him playing this series at all, to be honest.

Reavo should be in for at least game one in case the Pens want to play physical to set the tone, he'll keep them from doing that.  Things got a little chippy the last time these two played so I wouldn't put it past the Pens to try that....

That lineup is great...just bump Hunt off and leave GOODROW-ROONEY-REAVES.

Love it. Bring on the flightless birds!

Fuck that. LOL. Stay the fuck away from him. You breathe on him in the playoffs and it's a penalty. While I'd love to mess with the little prick bastard, it won't work.

They just have to dictate the play. Come out and do their thing.  Don't sit on their heals and wait to react to how they are playing (Like AV used to). Attack. Attack. Attack.

Trying to get under Crosbys skin will backfire. They played all season without focusing an onslaught against one player.

Can't start doing that now. Not at 0-0. If all else fails and they fail behind a couple games. Sure.

Do that at your peril. He can take the whole series on his back. If you just let him do his thing - he will.

EDIT - On further reflection, I don't think we are necessarily saying different things. My main point was patience and discipline; beat them exactly the way they beat them before . They did that by holding the defensive structure, keeping them outside, all the stuff that has worked as well on PIT as it's worked on anybody this year. But to use the Erixon example, he wasn't there to pummel, harass, or do some psyche job on Mario, Yzerman, etc. He was an extra layer of attention from a defensive specialist that generally proved highly effective - and fucking frustrating to the other team's best players. And if you don't do anything different in the moments that the game's best performers have proven to rise to, you get what you deserve.

The “4th line” will probably get more minutes than the “3rd line”. I will be shocked if Goodrow plays less than 16 minutes a game in the playoffs. He played 17-18 with Tampa.

It would be a massive coaching failure to play Rooney, Reaves or Hunt that much though.

Yea, Goodrow can, and he did with Coleman. Roons ain't that guy.

There is no f'n way that Reaves should be playing more than 10 minutes.

I know. I agree. I'm surprised Goodrow isn't at least slated with some combination of two of the kids. I realize Goodrow can just be slotted up in game as necessary, but why go in knowing you have to shuffle lines mid-game? Just set them more appropriately out of the gate. Obviously, Gallant has more than earned the benefit of the doubt though. Just a bit surprising is all

I agree, but it's the same "problem" we've been trying to sort out for the last few weeks. Goodrow can play on the 3rd line, but that means healthy scratching one of the kids (I've got no problem with Chytil sitting, but Galant does I guess). I guess you could put Kakko on the 3rd line with Hunt and Rooney, but meeh...

I dress Reaves just based off what happened at the end of the last game we played them. I’m not saying to overplay him, or he should play every game of the series. But, that minor league clown Angelo that went after Kreider at the end of the game and then did his shit talking will probably be muzzled a bit if Reaves is out there. Just don’t want to see that whiny, bitchy team take more runs at players when they get down; they’re famous for that.

I won’t be shocked if Goodrow eventually moves up to 3C, and Chytil gets benched at some point. Guess we’ll see depending on the flow of the series.

Keeps coming back to Igor in any 7 game stretch is very unlikely to lose 4 of them, against any other team.

Would certainly make life a lot easier of the top players have a big series.

I think we will see Reaves scratched or see him sit out a bunch of shifts with Kakko/ Copp raking his spot later in games.  Goodrow and Rooney are fine with expanded minutes. Not Reaves. Not Hunt either. Hunt hopefully doesn't play a single game in the playoffs. Fuck him.
