Deangelo received Norris votes. Hajek was -5 in ten games in a eastern European semi pro league, but don't stop getting those digs in.

Let's contextualize this. He was 12th place because he received one 4th place vote and two 5th place votes out of 4,420 possible votes ranked 1-5. It could boil down to voters needing to fill out their ballots and seeing him ranked as 4th amongst defensemen in points. He had an awesome season offensively but he was nowhere near a top 5 defenseman in the NHL as those votes would imply.

12th place out of 210ish NHL D men.

But hey, Libor Hajek is pretty good, too.

Oh, I forgot about that, good point, that shows why Tony Deangelo isn't very good at hockey, thanks, I hadn't considered that angle.
Tony is great at hockey.

He just sucks as a human and got knocked out by our scrawny, shy, quiet goalie and got himself kicked off the team.

It is believed that Sam Bennett, the fourth-overall selection of the 2014 draft, who has at least temporarily fallen out of favor, has been a topic of conversation between the teams.

Bennett, who can play center or wing, has been designated as a healthy scratch for the Flames’ match at Winnipeg on Thursday after having recorded just one point (an assist) in the first nine games. He has primarily played on the wing, averaging 13:20 on a line with Mikael Backlund and either Josh Leivo or Andrew Mangiapane.

According to sources, the Flames have not yet made the definitive decision to move on from him.

Bennett, whom the Rangers likely would envision either as the second-line right wing alongside Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome or their defined third-line center, will become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights following this season in which he accounts for a $2.55 million cap hit. His number next season will likely be in the $3 million to $3.3 million range.

It's the weird locker room cancer who everybody in the room loves.
"Everybody" lol.

You're showing him next to the guy everyone wants traded because he's just a good NHLer and not elite LMAO.

Oh man. So much to unpack on the grievance side.

Just looked at his stats and never realized he was such a poor performer.

Question is.. can he win faceoffs?

To be frank i'd be happy with a 3rd rounder for deangelo with salary retained- i still find it bizarre that anyone would trade for him when they could have had him for free.

All the facts were twisted at the time. Nobody wanted to pick up a racist guy who was playing keep away with a puck from the Rangers black rookie.

Which facts were twisted when the Rangers tried to trade him over the summer and they couldn't?
