Flyers/Torts only appearance at MSG.  Ottawa f'n has more appearances at MSG than our division rivals.

Schedule is awful. Feels like the NHL reversed course from years back when it was eight divisional games and went way too far.

There are 2 more teams now and you have to play them each twice - home and away. The mandate to play each team at least twice accounts for 62 of the games of the schedule! Not much more wiggle room to add extra divisional games.

Then go to the 1981/82 thing, line everyone up 1 thru 16 for the playoffs and do away with divisions and conferences. Or play the other conference once and make the division and conference getting those games. Owners complain about travel expenses and then do something like this stupidity.

They want every team in every building. They don't want teams to go two or three years between having superstars come to their arena.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the new media contracts, would it?

In the meantime, the new schedule is killing traditional rivalries; three games with teams within the division will probably do that...

Well, no, I don't think the national TV partners care which arena star players are playing in. In fact, rivalries are probably better for the overall TV product.
