If Tkachuk is in play, New Jersey has to be all-in to get him. They need that oomph.

I’m not -against- the idea of Toews like many are, but he’s not slotting in over Chytil for me, so if you get him you pretty much slot him at 3C over Goodrow. That’s fine, but it’s not necessary either

 

Kane would soothe the loss of Strome for Panarin and it doesn’t cap hamstring the team long term

Kane is virtually the only non-center forward who intrigues me. And with the DeBrincat trade, you have to wonder if that may be the nail in the coffin for him as far as a potential trade request.

 

And again, if he does put one forward, I can’t imagine him wanting to go many other places. Big market, big city, big pressure, big aspirations, opportunity to play with Panarin again. It would take a lot of jumping through hoops, but definitely worth it to see if it’s possible.

I’ve always said, he’d be a role player. I’d peg him (hahah) as the 3C, yes.

I get that, but to give someone a 3-year deal worth nearly $5 Million per season to be a goalie in tandem? Seems a bit much.
