Agreed.  If history is any guide the lineup will be a lot different than what we see on opening night.  But at least it's hockey, and edging toward the regular season.

Rookie game tonight against Philadelphia isn’t being live-streamed but there is a radio broadcast.

 

What I’ve heard so far:

 

Rangers survived a 5 on 3. Holding penalty by Sykora and then a delay of game on Scanlin 5 seconds in.

 

Garand standing on his head on the PK and in general. Lots of scrambles and close saves.

 

Game is very chippy. Robertson is getting into a lot of scrums. Grubbe and Rempe too.

 

Robertson blew someone up and then Ginning and Grubbe started chucking them.

 

Best Rangers chances were a Hunter Skinner one timer and back to back shots from Jones.

 

End of 1st. Shots 10-8 Flyers.

 

Robertson for delay of game early in the 2nd. Killed it with no shots.

 

Rempe draws a holding penalty. Rangers to the PP.

 

Robertson PP goal. Sounds like Skinner and Othmann with the assists. They're calling unassisted. Assists now credited to Skinner and Barbashev.

 

Flyers limited to 1 shot in the first 10 of the 2nd.

 

Boyko replaces Garand in goal. Immediately makes a save.

 

Flyers score against Boyko. Trivigno last man back for the Rangers and it sounds like he got walked after trying to dangle at the other end.

Korczak tries to set up Othmann on a 2-on-1 and gets blocked.

 

Robertson denied on a 2-on-1 with Barbashev. Stopped again right after. His name is coming up a lot.

 

End of 2nd. Shots 20-15 Flyers.

 

Boyko denies a breakaway and then a second chance.

Rangers can't enter the zone. Shots are 7-0 Flyers in the 3rd. Boyko keeping the Rangers in the game.

 

Sykora with a game saving diving play to break up a 2-on-1. Rangers really struggling to do anything.

 

"This has been relatively tame." Game has cooled off in physical intensity.

 

End of 3rd. Shots were 33-19 Flyers. 3-on-3 OT coming up. Khodorenko, Othmann and Jones to start.

 

Boyko denies Noah Cates on a 2-on-0 after chances for Othmann and Jones.

 

Tyson Foerster wins it after Cuylle loses a faceoff.

 

2-1 Flyers. Shots 35-22.

Didn’t listen to the entire first and skipped most of the third.

how the game sounded to me:

and garand, obviously

I listened to part of the 1st and most of the 3rd and Jones was the name that stood out the most and then Robertson.  Not much else other than those two.
