  1. Last year he had 11 goals, and he played the same way. He's not compensating for a lack of production. Now if he had said, "he team sucks and he's trying to fire them up"....no arguement.
  2. You don't that move though right? I suggested it in another thread and you called out benching guys with letters as a pee wee hockey move.
  3. If you are correct, Gallant needs to try something. Bench the best player? Take turns letting guys watch from the booth. Maybe pursue a better backup goalie.
  4. Fair enough except for the part where he says "who am I supposed to take out of the lineup"....as if we're firing on all cylinders. Just a strange choice of words for a frustrated fan base.
  5. Here comes the go to Hartford discussion with him. He should be willing to do a stint there to get in game shape and show he can play hockey for a week without missing time for a hangnail or menstrual cramps.
  6. This Bud's for him.....when he gets home.
  7. Yes. And if you look at his production from 35 yrs old until now you would not say he's worth Judge type money. He hit about 15-20 hr's a year and batted .240 That can be had for a lot less.
  8. It's always been about the number of years. He's 30 for goodness sake. I'll give him 40 for 5 years. He wants to get that kind of money for 7-10 years I'm out. The Yankees need another starter and some contact type 300 hitters. Something Judge has done once in his career.
  9. If you want to discuss Lias Andersson I suggest starting a new thread.
  10. Baseball has tried a lot of good things. Expanded playoffs, pitch clocks, starting extra innings with a man on second. Challenging calls. Next year the shift is illegal, so is playing on the grass as an infielder. None of this can change the fact that the pace of the game in inherently slower then the other 3 major sports. I would shorten the season, start later and end sooner. No more games if freezing cold. It should be done when the NHL and NBA are starting. Then there is the complicated discussion of payroll and competitive balance. You can't simply say have a salary cap. They have no real national TV money. Most of it comes from local markets. So if lucrative teams must share that money with small market clubs there are 2 conditions that should be dealt with. 1. A spending minimum. You can't take the Yankees' money and give it to the Reds so they can turn a profit and put out an inferior product. 2. Contract or move the teams that are not drawing fans. Don't throw a fit if you must close up shop in a city that's long had a team, or move them somewhere more productive. Or leave it as it is...since I'm a Yankees fan. @Parsley explode? I'd be happy with putting the ball in play
  11. They have no bull pen. Squeak by Cleveland and the Astros kill you going to those guys in the 9th.
  12. They're 15 - 3 since that post. Guess you're on to something.
  13. 1985-86 The year I became a Rangers fan They were a 4th place team and won the 1 v 4 match up with the hated Flyers. Won the next round and got to the Conf finals. Over achieving. Vanbiesbrouck was awesome. Later learned the players hated Ted Sator but that team played some serious defense.
  14. Jimmy Vesey outscores Kakko, Chytil and Lafreniere
  15. I love this team and I'm happy with them. Lost to a great team. I still feel the need to complain about game 3.
  16. Moving the lines is a 2 way door. You can put it back. Dress the wrong guy and that's a one way decision. I felt like Rooney was getting his legs under him. I'm inclined to stay with who we've been playing. Injuries aside of course.
  17. One period boys. Win one period and guarantee a game 7 at worst.
  18. As has been said, this team has given me enough already this year. And I loved the runs with Hank on the team. And 1994 will last a lifetime. Period. I want to win. I choose to be positive. But these windows are rare, even for good teams with a good future. I will give Capt one break. I've played, coached and been a fan. As a player I believed. As a coach I said the right things, sometimes believing it. As a fan, all bets are off. What I think or say has zero to do with the outcome. Again, I choose to be positive. I do agree, that being upset is likely caring too much. As a fan. I'm beyond that now. .. But winning wouldn't be sweet if losing didn't hurt. That's why my pulse is through the roof in overtime, and that's why I love it.
  19. Yeah, not going up 3-0 hurts. But it's a 3 game series with 2 at home. We all would have signed up for this when the playoffs started.
