  1. What if they expand the format. We win the cup and then win the draft lottery. All kidding aside, if I see playoffs this year I'll be happy.
  2. Keeping Kreider likely gave the mood in the locker room a bump. I also think it took guts to start playing the young goalies. I would think if the rebuild is going well, they should knock on the door of the playoffs like this. I don't care how this season ends, I'm encouraged.
  3. If if this post wasn't true....how do you "move" Hank?
  4. Bad Karma. They drafted him, tried to trade for him (likely offered a better deal than Houston did in hindsight)....and now likely over reached. The years are my issue.
  5. It's like there's a third person missing from the argument. The one who overstates how good Eli is. Giants fans more or less have a handle on it. People who don't like the Giants or NY teams or the Mannings kick more dirt on the statement. I don't see these articles telling me how average Terry Bradshaw was. 50 percent completion and as many picks and TD's.
  6. Already thin at starting pitching, the Yankees lose Domingo German to a domestic violence suspension. It's much bigger than sports. I get it. It's awful and i'm glad it gets dealt with. So this may come out wrong....I would think athletes at the professional level would have even more incentive to avoid these situations.
  7. Sad? Why? Eli was incredibly durable. He handled playing in NY well. He seems to be handling his current situation well. Not his fault he was a little over blown by some. He wasn't exactly along for the ride on those 2 superbowls like Trent Dilfer or Jim McMahon. He was near perfect and a 2 time superbowl MVP. A lot of teams would take that right now. The entire career.
  8. They have defensive issues. The new coordinator brought in a few of his guys and this is a make or break season for him. They can't pressure the QB, even when they blitz. Hate to beat a dead horse but they passed on an highly ranked DE to take Jones. The secondary had a rough night but they are young and I think they're not the problem. Nothing fixes a secondary like pressure on the qb.
  9. If your numbers are right I completely agree. I think getting it right on which kids to extend is big. The Smith deal, Shattenkirk...these things can't repeat themselves. Even Skjei may have been a reach. I'll admit I liked them all at the time. Is defense becoming harder to project success with? It seems to be our issue.
  10. Between the game tying goal and the winner. I can't think of 2 bigger goals that I still never actually saw go into the net. I've watched Matteau's goal over and over on youtube...still can see it go in.
  11. Even if this kid works out, he would have been there at 17. With Haskins there at 15 and Lock in round 2...that's a pretty safe assumption and a risk worth taking.
  12. Agree completely. I'd love Rosen for a 2nd and keep 6 and 17. I can live with a qb at 17 but I'd rather not. 6? No way.
  13. Rosen started 13 games last year. Not sure why he can't just play. I doubt the Cardinals pull the trigger now, they may wait on offers closer to the draft.
  14. I don't think they can wait for the draft. If Eli is on the roster Monday all that money gets paid and counts against the cap. They need to cut him. Are we really going to pay him 20 + million to mentor someone? We're not in win now mode...apparently.
  15. I agree with a lot of this except for 3. I've seen more that one article that says Rosen isn't bringing back a 1st. That's if the Cardinals are trading him. I'm not sure how I feel about the trade but a lot depends on the next move or two. Including 2 first round picks that you can't swing and miss on now. 1. Cut Eli. 2. Sign a vet QB (very few left) for a year or two. 3. Trade multiple picks, maybe even the #17 for Rosen. 4. Draft DE at #6 5. If no trade goes through for Rosen, draft BPA, potentially a WR at #17 6. Load up on D rest of draft
  16. Still wish we took Laremy Tunsil instead of Apple. But I understand. He smoked pot, unlike the rest of the draft.
  17. Which is exactly what I do if I'm Cleveland. There will still be a QB left at 4.
