Does it matter?

I can't believe we blew a 2-0 series lead twice. Scoring 2 goals this year in 4 loses and looking downright disinterested at times. Disappointing.

You make a lot of good points. But these revolutionary suggestions, made from the safety of our couches, while we're not at our non-hockey jobs.....isn't that the point of an internet forum? -

Looked to me like Ruff deployed a 3-3-3-3 because they were everywhere. -

Why not play hardball with Laf and offer 3rd line money and maybe you get value? Honestly which of our over 30 top 6 guys can be moved? -

I didn't think the playoff experience thing mattered. But it may have. I'm hoping our game 7 experience matters tonight. -
Lindy Ruff for starting Blackwood.

I thought it was more of a prediction thread. Shesty for sure. My prediction for game 7...Kane. He's due and if he comes through it will clearly be over blown and resemble the accolades in the original post.

2022-23 ECQF #6: Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils — Fade to Black

We saw a team that blinked at playoff hockey, particularly their goalie. Now they are playing defense and getting physical. We're seeing the skill and speed that resulted in them finishing ahead of us and beating us all year. That and their goalie is absolutely on fire. Game 3 was an opportunity lost. I would have like to see them do this through the lense of being down 0-3. I don't see a ton of adjustments. Maybe something on the PP. We can't decide to be faster. I'm not blaming Gallant but the 100 plus points weren't because of him. I wouldn't cry if he were gone. Can they come back and win? Sure. Hold serve at home and anything can happen in game 7.

After a day or so of licking my wounds I can't agree with this more. If we win tomorrow, they may start to taste acid again. -

While I disagree with your GM moves it is a valid point that a fast and skilled team can decide to plug up lanes and play defense. We can't decide to be fast. And yes, their goalie is playing well. Yet here we are 2-2. It's time for a short memory and forgetting how we got to 2-2. That's for the athletes, as a fan...I want to bitch and complain about how we got here. -

Devils are packing in the zone on defense, and they're fast enough to create a threat the other way off that. -

I hope you're right but I feel like one of these nights they are going to have a good offensive game and put up some goals. When you do hold them to 1 goal in regulation you need to come a way with a win. -

With the exception of the Islanders every game one loser won game 2. The Isles went to OT. I expect the best NJ has tonight and I'd love to get this one. -

Great defensive effort. Did I hear correctly...they had 0 SOG during their power plays?? I also think the Rangers had more of a just shoot mentality last night. One too many passes during the year. -
In another coaching move the Rangers are getting a hotel in NJ to treat this like any other road game.

I really don't know what to expect. From game to game or period to period we've been Jekyll and Hyde. I get the reasons for optimism but last year seems to be brought up a bit too much. We took a 3rd string goalie to OT in game 7.
