Devils not quite in desperation territory yet but they are getting pretty damned close.  It would be nice if we were the team to shove them over the edge

 

I think they would have pulled the trigger on Markstrom already so the price must be painfully high for them not to have done so.

The price may be too steep for Markstrom, maybe they wind up with someone like Gibson instead. I'm sure they'll wind up with a goalie either way.

Rangers depth is probably better right now than at any time this season.  All of the older guys who didn't really have a place in the NHL right now have been replaced by younger guys who might.

the other is also 6’7 240 lbs

Devils defensive structure is not disciplined enough with their current make up.  Goalie is not good enough to bail them out when they have lapses.  Unlike us.  Although I think we play better team defense than they do (for the most part and  defensive zone exits notwithstanding)

 

They just don't have the guys on D and even if they overpay for a goalie it is probably not going to fix what ails them.

 

Good teams dispatch also-rans even those whose motivation may be higher than our own.  Time for us to be a good team.

 

Am I crazy to be scared shitless about the upcoming Columbus back to back starting on Sunday?

• Then impose your size on the other team early and often - Looks like it might be a check
• Put one in the back of the net every now and then - Not there yet

Nice thought but lining him up is tougher then people think and if you don't get it right he can make you pay in a heartbeat.

Hitting is an art form in any sport and anyone can be lined up if you know how.  Unfortunately, its a lost art in hockey for the most part.  Would be nice to see though.
