  1. Sitting Rempe for game 2 would be the dumbest thing Lavi could ever do, period.
  2. Got to love the lack of effort and intensity with the playoffs right around the corner.
  3. Nitpicking a player who is a real asset for the team isn't discussion, it's nonsense.
  4. Do whatever you want. You enjoy nitpicking the game of a guy well worth his cap hit so guess you will blowing hot air about anything.
  5. This debate about Kreider is just silly. Does he have drawbacks as a player? Yes he does. But is he worth a $6.5m/year cap hit? Every day of the week and twice on Sundays. He has become a legit 40+/- goal scorer and 70+/- point winger and he is the best net front guy in the NHL and the last 3 seasons has become an excellent and dangerous penalty killer. Both his Corsi and Fenwick %'s are 58% +/- and his +/- #'s are always good in the +20 range the last 3 years. He is big, fast and can play physical when he wants to. I wish he played a more physical game and was more engaged at times, but all in all, the Rangers are damn lucky to have him at $6.5m/year in my opinion and nitpicking his deficiencies as a player is just blowing hot air.
  6. Scratching Cuylee is a bad move by Lavi unless he has some type of injury they haven't disclosed.
  7. The D corp looked terrible...maybe they were still tired. Ugly win, but it's two points.
  8. So when did this tiredness kick in? Because the first 30 minutes they looked great with plenty of energy and then after one brain fart by Brodzinski, they fell apart. That's not tired to me. Two years ago in the playoffs, up 2-0 in games vs TB and leading game 3, they got scored on and then simply fell apart losing 4 straight. Did they get tired? Last year vs NJ, up 2-0 in games, they play a tight 3rd game and lose and then fall apart, and lose the series 4-3. Did they get tired? My point is, if they ever want their names engraved on the Stanley Cup, they have to play through being "tired" and not fall apart in games. I bet lots of Vegas players were tired during the playoffs last year, the difference being they kept playing hard and within their structure. Losing games is fine, as long as they leave it all out on the ice and play smart hockey. They did not do that last night in my opinion.
  9. If you don't like my posts, don't read them. To say this because you disagree with my opinion just tells what an asshole you are, and I could care less about what an asshole thinks.
  10. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. I disagree. I saw a team just give up. Maybe they were tired but that's no excuse for the way they fell apart.
  11. They just quit after 30 minutes. Flat out quit. Horrible display. Who needs Trouba?
  12. First 10 mins of 2nd period were fine and then Brodzinski makes back to back idiotic passes that get intercepted and end up in the net. Just fucking stupid hockey that gave the Lightning some momentum. Then Laffy with a dumb play and penalty and they are back on their heels because of stupid choices by our forwards.
  13. Torts is honest and doesn't give a fuck, so he says what he means, and he just told Larry he was an asshole, which he is. Got to love Torts.
  14. I loved when Sam kept saying that Kaapo Kakko was no relation to Kaapo Kahkonen....guess he didn't realize Kaapo is their first names.
  15. I agree it's a performance based capped league, but does that mean there is no consideration given to intangibles such as leadership and mentoring and protecting younger players? I think there is. I don't think there is any way Nick Foligno is worth $4.5m/year based on his "performance" on the ice, but his leadership, mentoring and protecting a kid like Bedard is worth a lot to the Hawks. That is where I think Trouba is undervalued by a lot of fans. But as I also said, 10 fans will have 10 different ideas about how to judge a players value, so you're just as entitled to think he is overpaid.
  16. Having Trouba these past few years has done several things that benefit the Rangers, not least of which was giving them a physical presence on the ice they did not have before he arrived. People get all excited about Rempe and what he brings to the team, well that was Trouba 4 years ago when he came to one of the softest teams in the league. That can't be overlooked. He also brought leadership and accountability to the room that did not have much. When he speaks his team listens, even the long term vets, and when he plays a physical game, they respond. He has been a mentor for all the young D, not just K'Andre, who he has been great for. Schneider is learning from him WITHOUT the pressure of having to be the 24 minute a night guy yet, which he will become partially because of having Trouba around. Trouba blocks tons of shots, hands out lots of hits, some of them highlight reel good, and always stands up for himself and his teammates. He is an old school hockey player. Is he overpaid at $8 million? Maybe, but how do you value the intangibles he brings to the team that no one else can? 10 fans will give you 10 different answers. And I bet a team like the Devils or Sabres, that have young, smallish players would be more than happy to have Trouba at his current cost. Fans get so wrapped up in what a guy is paid that they sometimes forget all he does for a team, especially the kind of stuff that doesn't show up on a stat sheet. For me, I'm happy the Rangers signed Trouba and think without him these past few years they are not nearly as good a team as they are right now, and it's partially because of him our young defenders are developing so well. There will come a time for him to move on, probably when his deal is up and Schneider is fully ready to be the 24 minute a night guy. Until then, I'm just going to appreciate what he brings to the team every game he plays.
  17. Igor is back and just in time to take a run at the cup. Igor. Igor. Igor.
  18. Dept of player safety is a joke with zero consistency, so that's why for a 1st offense, he will get 5 games. He deserves at least 1 and maybe 2, so they will give him 5.
  19. I don't think his temper was involved at all. He was just trying to hand out a hit and got his arm up. He is already half a foot taller than most everyone, so he has to really try to keep those arms down.
  20. Rempe doing all the right things until that elbow. He has to learn to keep his arms down and tucked into his body when he hits.
  21. If I were Rempe I would hold off on any fights tonight because he has one coming next game vs the Devils. They traded for MacDermid after what happened last Ranger game and I am willing to bet $$$$ that MacDermid will be in his face in warm ups. Rempe best protect himself in that fight.
