Entire D corp were like traffic cones in our end for the first half of the game. Miller and Lindy both looked slow and lethargic. But, maybe Troch's goals woke them from their slumber and the will play the 3rd like they did the last 8 to 10 mins of the 2nd. If they do, they can win this game. Also, props to Rempe for knocking Martin around at the start of the game. I hope the kids sticks with the club.

I never said he didn't have defensive deficiencies or isn't having a down year this season...ever. What I said is he isn't one dimensional and I have seen him make some amazing defensive plays in is young career, especially coming from behind to stop breakaways because of his great speed and long reach, that none of our other D could dream of doing. Of course he has work to do but he is only 24. He will learn and improve because he is full of talent and has good mentors like Trouba and coaches around him. And keep in mind he was a +23 two years ago, +12 last year and is a +7 this year, so to say he is bad defensively is nonsense. Every player has rough patches and down years, and he will only get better as time goes by. That's why trading him is a fools errand in my opinion.

Calling Miller one dimensional is just silly, but you're entitled to that opinion. Could not disagree with you more.

If Drury were to make it known around the league that he was willing to move Miller, he would get a call from EVERY GM in the league and there would be a bidding war for the kid. Trading him is a fools errand.

Too bad for Wheels, hope he heals up soon. If I were GM, I would bring up Othmann and give him a shot right now for at least 5 or 6 games and see what he can do with Mika and Kreids before giving up any assets for a RW. Johnny B has solved the 3C issue in my mind and along with Cuylee and Kakko make a solid 3rd line. If Othmann can fill 1RW, they have all they need except maybe a depth piece or two.

If Miller knew how to step up at the blueline and didn't shy away from contact with MacKinnon, he never even gets that shot off and game is still 0-0. Rangers also have to stop over passing in the O zone and shoot the damn puck Barry! Mika especially.

We can agree to disagree on this. Defenseman don't typically hit their strides at 24 and I believe K'Andre is just going to keep getting better with time.

There has never been a team more in need of a good blow job than this Ranger team. They need to relax and go out there and play to WIN instead of playing not to lose and start enjoying hockey again.

Sometimes athletes have down years, it happens, even to the best of them. In my opinion, Fox has looked terrible this year defensively, and looks slow and lethargic to the point that I wonder if he has something physically wrong that is bothering him, but I don't want to trade him. Young athletes develop and sometimes they take a step back before moving forward again and my guess is that is what is going on with Miller. I would hate to trade him and then watch him explode for some other team.

I think moving Miller would be very short sighted as he is only 24 and has tons of potential yet to develop. We have seen how good he can be, so perhaps a bit of patience is in order since no one can be at their best all the time, especially when they are young and still developing. The ONLY way I would trade him is if the haul was too good to pass up and a significant overpay.

The ladies were back for the 2nd period. Vegas just toys with them. Time for Drury to start thinking a new core because these guys don't have what it takes to win a cup.

Novak only $800k and getting retention on Tank for a 5th round pick makes it under the cap no problem. If Ottawa want's a B prospect added, I'm fine with that. It's not like Tank is lighting it up for them.

Novak prob costs a 1st round pick, and Tarasenko a 2nd round and 5th round for retention.

I would like to see them target Novak as 3C and Tank for RW for Mika. 3rd line of Cuylee/Novak/Kakko
