QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

"He’s a guy that you really love to have on your team. I was actually telling [Morgan Rielly] when they were getting the cards out and everything, I looked up at our team and there was only one natural center, which is myself. I was telling him I hope there’s not too many whistles because there’s not too many guys that can take faceoffs out here. He’s a guy that’s really good in that category."

- Auston Matthews on Vincent Trocheck

Not surprising given that he just participated in ASG weekend. Felt like this is has always been standard protocol when it comes to goalies who are at ASG; at least from what I can remember in the past with both Henrik and now Igor.

Gives him a “soft” landing spot to hopefully kick into high gear to jumpstart his season on Wednesday against a Tampa Bay team that always seems to bring out the best in him.

Yeah, good call. He loves going up against Vas. It looks like he had a great time at the All Star Game, hopefully it's a good mental reset for him too.

Let's start building some steam heading towards the last third of the season!!! Let's get back to how they played in October/November!

Quicky is gunna bail em out after a lethargic first for an energized end of game. I'm pumped.

Need the Bread line to play really well tonight and score at least two goals.

The biggest difference between the first 30-odd games and the last 16 is the Bread line is not dominating any more and their defense is suspect.

Yes.

Many teams give the first start to their backup if their starter goes to ASG.

It’s totally the right call.
