Mikkola was solid tonight on the top pairing. Miller was alright too after a stinker, but also more valuable than our backup right now.

Trouba has really been steady lately. Not perfect, but he's improved. Also - the kids suck.

I was impressed with what Kane and Trocheck brought against the Caps, while Kreider had one of his M.I.A. games.

The scary thing about this team is I'm looking 1 to 21 on that list and everybody has a job and is doing it well.

I don't think I've seen a Ranger's roster more primed for the playoffs since Spring of '94.

Not sure how Chytil moves up after that game and Motte didn't. Zib is the engine that makes this team go. When he's on his game, everybody else's job gets easier.

Only 2 moves a game allowed. Chytil has been a consistent point scorer and contributing early in games to help get the team started on the right foot. Kane deserved to get worked back down after his last few games, but if I minus 1d him on an off day you’d have posted about that too.

Not sure how Motte moves up past Miller because of one game.

Because it's a daily power ranking and that's how power rankings work? It's an intentionally manufactured exercise in recency bias.

This was tough for me because I thought Motte, Lafreniere, Kakko, Chytil, Zib, Kreider,  Panarin, Fox, and Tarasenko were worthy of consideration.

Lindgren made an immediate impact returning to the lineup.  I was more impressed with Goodrow than Mikkola.  And I only had 2 moves.

Where does it say it’s daily? That’s your interpretation. There’s definitely a “what have you done for me lately” factor, but that could be a culmination of the last few games, which is generally how I approach it.

Oh, sorry, you're permitted to make moves after every game, so basically every other day. That's a massive difference, not sure how we could overlook it! GTFOH 🤣

You especially make moves directly after almost every game. So the fact that you're looking at a specific player who you specifically endorse on a very specific basis and are looking to move them up the rankings points to a very specific bias.

That's not what I meant. You get your moves refreshed every game, but it doesn't mean you have to make the moves in a vacuum based on one game. If that were the case, we might as well not have these rankings and just have everyone pick their stars of the game.  Sorry, but that's never really been how people have generally operated in here. There are lots of moves made that are "he's been really good lately". Those are the smart moves. The bad moves are moving Motte over Miller because he had an anomaly game.
