I don't know what the statistics are, but it's the hardest to kill against – especially in practice because of all the threats they have. You have Foxy up at the top, who’s the best defenseman in the league. You have the best net-front guy (Kreider), one of the best one-timer guys inside (Zibanejad), and then Panarin passing and Stromer in the middle. You can't take away every option.” — Kevin Rooney on the Rangers power play GIF to HYPE: 3
Valriera Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 thread title 10/10 there is a new york rangers hockey game tonight
Kevin Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Kreider back on track tonight with 2. Mike Gartner for trivia.
jsm7302 Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Big measuring stick tonight. This could be a playoff match up. We have always matched up well post season with these guys but I am looking forward to hopefully seeing some inspired play.
Ozzy Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I want Sid in the first round....it's time to pass the torch! The new path to the finals has to go through MSG! ...now I have to stand behind that!! ...Shit!! LOL

Ozzy Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 @Drew a Penalty breaking out the use of assonance for a GDT!!! I like it!! This thread is headed for a "win" already! 2 1
Cr00zng Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Both teams have good records vs. Met Division opponents: Capitals: 9-3-1 Rangers: 9-3-0 Capitals have a good on the road record 16-5-3, Rangers home record is 16-4-3. This going to be a tough game for the... Capitals. Rangers win 5-1... 1
RichieNextel305 Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 This should be a good one. I’d really like to see us come out flying for a change. And I’d really like to pay them back for that opening night ass beating they laid on us. But, I’ll take 2 points anyway they come tonight. 1
mRanger48 Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I wonder if anyone behind the controls at msg has the balls to put ovechkins Instagram profile pic up on the video board tonight…

Sure lets do that and have fans start arguing about politics instead of arguing about how much of a scumbag Tom Wilson is. Usually attending sporting events is used to escape from reality for a few hours and have a good time. Edited February 24, 2022 by Blue Heaven
RichieNextel305 Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I saw some tweets about how the situation should be handled with Ovechkin with the media regarding what’s happening. Personally, if I’m the Caps, I’m asking him nicely to just “no comment” it and move on. No need to bring politics into this; this is supposed to be an escape from all of that. Let it be that.
BrooksBurner Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Do we need to be concerned about xenophobic attacks against Russian players?
Vodka Drunkenski Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 @Drew a Penalty Why wasn’t this thread put up at midnight? Slacker

Yeah. Ovi seems to be openly pro-Putin. Not sure where our star goalie lands. I don’t really care, to be honest, but that’s not how the media operates. This will be a thing.

I realize this may be some cynical spy v spy bullshit and perhaps tainted by that I fucking love watching Ovechkin, but I'm careful to note that there's a long and sordid history of Soviet athletics being heavily political and largely manipulated. I do not doubt that Putin learned that art from his predecessors as well, and I do not doubt that Ovechkin - noting that his family is all in Russia and that he is the most important Russian athlete on the planet right now - is likely not immune from that. Ovechkin's been removed from the Caps media availability today. That's probably for the better. 1
Valriera Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Yeah just let these guys play some hockey tonight
