I think the Capitals finally beat the Penguins in the playoffs and finally move on to the Conference Final. The Capitals powerplay is rolling at 33%, which is just absurd. Matt Murray really isn't sharp, while Holtby most certainly is. And Malkin is hurt. EZ Caps win in 5.

Caps are playing great, deep, balanced and 2 excellent options in goal. The kicker is Ovechkin looks unstoppable on the PP. Pitt is going to have to earn this one. Crosby and Guenzal have been otherworldly. That Malkin-Hag-Kessel line has been outrageous for months and Brass has elevated that 3rd line to everything they wanted. If Malkin misses a bunch of games here, this series is up for grabs.

The drama potential seems high in this series. I also expect some great hockey. Hard to imagine this going less than 6 games. I'll predict it goes 7.

Here in DC, the PTSD is seriously thick. Half the people I know doubled their therapy schedule when it was confirmed they would meet the Pens - again. But having giggled at the annual collapse for decades, I feel like they're in pretty good shape this time. Sound defense, Ovie's rolling, Holtby found his mojo. They just have to believe they can do it.

wow, thanks. Concussions suck. Now if the Caps blow this they are going to hate themselves.

The team has to think this is their chance and demonstrate the determination to rise to the occasion and win at all costs. If they let a game they are dominating and leading, get away from them, doubt could creep in and be the difference. They are playing their best hockey of the year, like the Sharks did recently, it is time they ride their confidence, experience and hunger to push them over the hump.
