Frankly, their roster was bloated to begin with, so in a way, removing some of these guys, albeit temporarily, should let them properly highlight others who've been drowned by the size of the roster in the first place. I mean, think about it. They're down Punk, the Bucks, Omega, Black, and Cage. Adam Cole is hurt. So is Kyle O'Reilly, Santana, and Thunder Rosa (among others). Jeff Hardy was deactivated pending his status. Yet in spite of all of this, they still have Danielson, Page, Moxley, Pac, Miro, Jericho, Claudio, Eddie Kingston, etc. waiting. There was a moment during the Jericho-Claudio match when the announcers were going over the storied names who've held the title, and Punk's name was pretty deliberately skipped over despite being inarguably one of the biggest names to have held it.
