  1. This team gives up SOOOO many shots. Between the Colymbus and most recent Washington game, there was like 8 or so posts that were hit. If, not when, we go on a slide, it could be very tough to recover. How does this problem get fixed? Is it the system? Personnel?
  2. Trading Buch is a bad idea. Kreider has the one way ticket out of here come February. Replace him with a cheaper alternative and lets draft some north/South players. All of the sudden we are making plays to compete now? F that idea, stay the course. We build through the draft and by sending the pending FA's out of here. Lets keep our head in the long game.
  3. +1 I refuse to get too optimistic but damn, looks like we have a team again. Some of the most entertaining hockey in a while from this team. Fingers crossed it continues. I'm not expecting it but a wild card spot and some playoff experience would be a great way to end this step forward. Here is to hoping!!
  4. 2 months in. Team definitely took a step forward with off season acquisitions. Where do they stand with Kreider? My opinion......flipped for picks at the deadline is what will keep this train going in the right direction. Thoughts?
  5. This is another one of those games where we see where the ceiling is with this crew. Consistency will be the lesson to learn this year and next. Good things ahead folks!
  6. In terms of age, I understand your counter however my comment was meant more so as "the big name" in the big apple signing. History isn't good for us in signing the big names on the market. Hopefully he pans out; we all have the same goal here.
  7. Agreed. This was an old Ranger move based on one really good season. Pionk was developing nicely and could've stayed for less money. Regretful move, another D albatross for many moons to come. To answer the original question which seems sort of rhetorical because we all watch the same hockey games....Average all around D man. Not impressed so far.
  8. Strome is living up to his potential at the moment. Will it continue? Time will tell. I like the guy, he wants to be part of the core here and he is doing a helluva job staying relevant in that conversation. Hell, Chytil looks good too We went from no 2c to two viable options.
  9. Still a rebuild year and team is learning its identity. Watch the Tampa game; by year's end this team should have a good thing going. Maybe make the playoffs, maybe not but all in all Panarin was necessary. He is the Jagr of this era bringing the team back to the dance. Trouba is the player whom I question but hey... it's a move towards competing again.
  10. Tony D is a developed first round pick D man. We all know D take longer to develop. Why would we trade him if he fills an important role on this team with the mentality that an unknown will develop into a more complete player? Thats a roll of the dice I'm not willing to take. No one is asking him to be deployed in a shut down role. Like any other position, use him in a role where he can succeed, put up 60 points and finish with a plus rating...... Kind of unfathomable to think this is even a discussion. 60 points as a D man would put him in elitish company in this league. Keep him until another proves they can fill that role. Ball is in his court though; let's see how he does this year.
  11. Why would we trade a 66 point defenseman? Until someone lives up to that potential on this roster, I WOULD NOT trade DeAngelo.... Strome could go if the offer is good enough. We have enough middle six plugs for that hole.
  12. If Fil steps in and can keep up and play...that changes the season when Zibs comes back.
  13. Agree with all of the above minus Fast. Apparently he carries the identity this team should be striving for.....but they aren't striving for it. Quinn, thanks for the effort but hmmmm....Trouba for Tortorella? Not that we were going for it this year but these years are culture building...need to the coach to lead it.
  14. Who wouldve thought the Islanders would be lighting it up this year compared to us and the devils.....Kind of mind blowing. Looking back, shouldve kept Pionk and let the Trouba train ride elsewhere. Panarin was still worthwhile. Damn, a closed door meeting rehashing this rebuild plan may be worth it.
  15. Where does it fall? Leadership? Depth? Coaching ? Defense? I say all of it is lacking right now. Yuck. Another top 2 pick this year?
  16. First game Ive seen this season...not impressed.... - Zone Entrys were terrible - Power Play was terrible - Goaltending was suspect No high expectations from this guy this year.....another growing year...
  17. Why doesn't anyone think Namestnikov will have success playing with higher caliber players? I feel like he rose to the occasion with Stamkos. I'd say give it a shot.
  18. I agree with that, look at career stats; just have to hope the increased numbers weren't an anomaly. (1 year of 50 points and the rest sit around 20- 30ish.)
  19. Sign, play for a year and cash in huge next year. Or don't play and make $0 with no future. No brainers in my eyes. I'm a unionized employee and I get the comparative analysis of job description and salary but sometimes it doesnt matter when you have 0 leverage. That's the hard thing for some to understand. The ones whom hold the cards are the ones whom have the power. 1 for 1- Honka for ADA. Make it happen. (No idea what side Honka plays nor his cieling, just know they are both 1st round D men who cant solve their contract situation with their current teams.
  20. I would definitely like to buy in if a spot opens.
  21. I was wondering if the board was doing a fantasy league again this year and if any spots were open?
  22. Panarin, Kakko, Chytil, Buchnevich, Zibanejad, Lemiuex and Howden Trouba, DeAngelo, Skjei Georgiev
