Friedman Peter Laviolette Is Next Rangers' Head Coach; Signs 3-Year Deal
Sharpshooter replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
It is, but just a thought since he's still unhired. Chances are PL probably doesn't want him in the staff anyway. We shall see. -
Playoffs 2022-23 SCF: Golden Knights vs. Panthers

Yeah, I think they could fizzle out sooner rather than later, but they did do a great job building their team early. (also a bit of luck with the expansion draft) Of course that could come at the expense of a bleak future, but it's been a hell of an early run. -

Since Hynes seemed to be a serious contender for the head coaching job, I wonder if they'd bring him in as an assistant for the defense? -

They've been around six years, have been to the Final twice, just won the cup and have had a few other deep playoff runs. I'm jealous. lol What a start for that franchise. -

No doubt. A lot of ire from the fans from this past season's disaster. All management should have a short leash this year, as they should. Again, their seats should be feeling a little warmer. If they have another fuck up next year, you're talking much bigger problems than who's behind the bench. Then you're looking at balls to the walls organizational changes. -

If they have another early exit next year, they'll have bigger problems than behind the bench. It may finally time for Chris to be on the hot seat. I think his seat should be a little warm, at the very least, this year. I'm not giving him a pass by any means. The Buchnevich thing is by far the worst of those moves. One of the worst moves by a Rangers GM in recent memory. -

There are reasons every coach gets hired and subsequently fired. lol The NHL in general has a high head coaching turnover rate. Look at his accomplishments compared to what the Rangers have had the last several years. lol C'mon. I was not happy when they hired Quinn, I was whelmed when they hired Gallant. Now they hire their first real coach in well over a decade and it's a huge problem? -

Or a presumably healthy Kane. lol (although I guess there's still a chance he could be back here at some point) -

You really don't think he's that much an improvement over Gallant? I'm not saying Laviolette is one of the all time great coaches, a can't miss. But, I don't see how they are already better behind the bench than they were last season. Although some of that hinges on who the new assistants are. -

Sounds like Rangers fans every single year. Every coach has shortcomings. Gallant had no plan of attack, no system, nothing. Players had no clue what to do. Look, if you are more concerned with the overall makeup of the team and the players themselves, that's fine. But this current group has had basically no coaching for five years. Three years of Quinn and two of Gallant ain't it. If Laviolette comes in and is a failure and players don't get better and all, the yeah, it's probably time to rethink the make up of the team. Until then, right now? I say we finally have a quality coach. Perhaps the best since Torts. -

It ended too soon and in one of the worst playoff losses in team history. -

Yeah and there was another two day break between last game and tonight. A bit much. -
I read that it's the best Diablo since the second one, which is great news. I liked the third game just fine, but it really didn't resonate with me as much as the first two games did.

I played the FFXVI demo last night and it was fantastic. If you love action heavy combat with RPG elements, you will love the gameplay. Also the game has a great setting and lore. It's classic medieval fantasy with a lot of political intrigue, war and romance a la Game of Thrones. -
Is Alonso going to be out awhile? Does he have a fracture?

I liked it a lot too. For Netflix, it's quite good.
