  1. One of the biggest travesties ever. He and Luongo are two of the best to ever do it that didn't win the ultimate prize.
  2. Yeah man, we are close. I feel like the only thing that's been lacking with this group is real coaching. Do they have other flaws? Absolutely, but I'm going to reserve judgement until I see how they do with some guidance and structure. Three years of David Quinn and two of Gallant ain't it. Laviolette has won the big prize and taken three different teams to the Cup final. That is an incredible feat in this day and age.
  3. It was a treat watching a Hall of Fame career here for so long. We definitely got spoiled. He was ingrained in the culture and represented the organization so well. For those who watched Eddie Giacomin play, I understand the kind of love you had for him even more. I'm also glad this franchise can get one thing right, and that's finding goaltending.
  4. Mogilny should IMO. Elias is one of those borderline guys, but if he got in, I'd be cool with it.
  5. Hopefully the Marc Savard rumors are true too. But yeah, really interested to see who they get for new head Athletic Trainer.
  6. Tomorrow morning they will be announcing this year's Hall of Fame class. So, look for Henrik Lundqvist to get the call.
  7. I know he's only 21/22 years old by the time next season starts, but a make or break kind of year for him next season? Definitely fair. It's fair to criticize Gallant as he seemed to be one of the most outspoken against him, but you also need to put the work in and get in shape. I think he got himself in a little better shape this year, but still leaving a lot to be desired across the board. That's to say the least.
  8. Maybe so, but he's still an established goalie and whatever his contract may be, he's going to give them instantaneous results in goal. It doesn't even need to be him specifically, either. They get a quality goaltender this offseason? They are a contender.
  9. If they get a goalie like a Hellebucyk, watch out. They are right there.
  10. Someone posted earlier in the thread that it's scheduled for Tuesday. I think 11AM.
  11. Not just summer activities, but there's just more to do now, whether you're outside or not. There's more to do, more things to watch, more things to play, etc. Another reason for baseball's declining ratings the last few years. With this series, it was two non big markets and it wasn't a very good series unless you're a Vegas fan. Florida basically got dismantled.
  12. Thanks for reminding me that Trouba has three more years left. And yeah, I also kind of think that's why Drury went with Laviolette. He's definitely a 'safe' pick and he does get quick results and that's what they need. I kind of expected it to happen, just odd that it took so long to transpire. Maybe they really wanted Q, but didn't want to wait on the league to get maybe get him reinstated?
  13. I don't eve know what the other options would be for a backup goalie in free agency. We know the Rangers cap issues and if Halak doesn't retire, and wants to come back, he can be had for cheap. So, if they can go cheap where they can, they will. Assuming he doesn't retire, I'm expecting him back here for that reason.
  14. I'm not surprised by the low viewership for this one, but 43%? Oof.
  15. I think if I had the room, I would buy some of the old consoles, and maybe an old CRT TV and play. The PS1 and PS2 was a great era of gaming. I do subscribe to the Premium PS+ tier so I do have access to quite a few old games, which is better than nothing. Of course it's limited. I'd just rather have the actual system.
  16. Indeed. They might have to trade someone they might not want to in order to free up some space, perhaps. The next two offseasons should be very interesting.
  17. I am still quite early in my initial playthrough. I stopped playing for awhile because they kept releasing new updates and then I got distracted with other games and never went back to it. lol I'll pick it up again soon though. Even if I don't beat it in time for the expansion, at the very least I'll be quite deep in my current build.
  18. That was mostly sarcasm, but if it winds up being $10 million? I'll take it. lol
  19. Getting Eichel was ballsy and a great move too. They were also fortunate to get a Hall of Fame goalie in Fleury in the expansion draft to start things off. That doesn't happen too often for expansion teams. I think the Rangers have been put together well for the most part, just really haven't had much if any direction. There have definitely been some poor moves, but overall they should be going deeper with the group they had.
  20. LOL That looks interesting. I'm also very excited for the Cyberpunk expansion! What a turnaround that game has had after a very rough beginning. It's basically going to make the game a whole new game and experience. I read that file size for it is 70GB!
