Perhaps. Point being they're still going to be competing with each other big time for the next several years at least. These are two good teams. The Rangers were competitive for years with Pittsburgh and they had Crosby and Malkin.

Gorton just reached way too much for my liking. I liked getting Othmann and Drury didn't fuck around here and just took BPA.

Nashville has always been a very sound organization. So, the fact that they were high on him and mad they missed it has me even more optimistic.

I like Garrand, but I don't think they're ready to give him the backup role just yet. Halak is probably gone, so it's just going to be another cheap stopgap solution until then.

His curve might have been the best I've seen it. He goes from giving up ten runs his last game to a perfect game. That's baseball for you. A combination of him being dominant and the A's being that dreadful. But still, a perfect game is a perfect game and it takes everyone and a lot of luck. I thought Rizzo made at least one or two plays in the field to help preserve it. Incredible to witness and I've seen the prior two by Yankees pitchers also. With the way this season is going, it will probably be the lone highlight.

It's totally a need. A huge need.
