Yeah, Kakko is definitely ready to take the next step and has looked quite good. But, just looking at he and Laf overall, I don't know if you can be anymore disappointed in two top two picks. It really sucks, and is devastating for this team going forward. I do think Kakko will wind up being quite good, just not the franchise altering type of player you're hoping when you pick that highly. Laf just flat out looks like he doesn't belong in the NHL.

I just hope it's 'only' the first 15 games.

Yeah, they haven't looked that great but as I said in the game thread last night, I think most of these guys are just waiting for the season to start. Mika, Kreider, Panarin, they know what they have to do. Again, if they look like ass three weeks or so into the season, then you can be worried. Right now? I'm really not.

It's amazing to me just how many times he passes up taking open shots in front. Unlike Laf he's actually good at putting himself in good scoring positions, but just doesn't take the shot.

Kakko competes, but almost always makes terrible decisions with the puck. lol

Laf's performance is by far the worst thing from this preseason. I'm really not too worried about anyone else.

Yeah, it's why I don't look too much into veteran performances in preseason. But, I still think Igor is going to have to be great early while the team gets acclimated a bit.

Yeah, you get the feeling Shesterkin is going to have to be like '21-'22 Igor for at least the first month or so for this team to get its footing (hopefully).

Young or old, I have huge issues with the core of this team as a whole. It was evident big time after the first two games of the New Jersey series.

That was a cool backstage segment there. I'm sure Edge is excited to be around some more of his old buddies again. He looks refreshed and reinvigorated. His most recent WWE run was good and all, but the last few months, it was clear they really didn't have anything for him. I think they figured he was going to retire, or perhaps just wanted him to. There's really nothing more for him to do there anyway. He's done it all, and then some. He doesn't owe them anything.

Only lately? lol Yeah, that was a good segment. Christian is such a great shit face heel. lol The moment where he eventually turns face and teams with Edge again is going to be amazing.

When it comes to forwards, they've basically flubbed all their first round picks or they're just not any good. It's pathetic and a bad sign for the future. Where's the offense coming from when Zibanejad and Panarin aren't in their primes anymore?
