Why don't we bump the Game 7 thread while we're at it. Why would someone do this? lol It's bad enough every time I went to the Rangers page, I have to see that final score.

Sounds like best case scenario for the injury, doesn't sound too serious. Maybe he can be ready by opening night or only miss a couple of games at worst. Get the injury bug out of the way now. That is a good point, though, that we may expect more because of the change in playstyle. Overall we've been pretty lucky with injuries the last couple of years.

I was thinking the same thing. Is he even going to make it through half the season? As long as he's serviceable and keeps you in the game, I guess that's okay for a backup. But, he looked done last year. I get wanting to go a little cheaper (Halak hasn't signed anywhere anyway, as far as I know). I thought maybe they would just go with Domingue. They still may depending. lol Edit: it is only the first preseason game. As bad as a he looked last year, I'm willing to wait a bit until he gets his feet under him a bit. Even Lundqvist in his prime didn't look too hot in preseason sometimes. His days off shutting teams out are over, but as long as he gives them a decent shot at winning, like Halak, then it's fine.

Garand obviously needs more seasoning, but he was the standout to me. The Rangers are a goalie producing machine.

This is why I didn't hate it when the Rangers passed on this guy and Q. Too much baggage with the possibility of things cropping up again and just being a huge distraction in general. I don't think Drury and the organization wanted that over their heads all year. Another masterclass move by JD, and him being fired here looks more and more plausible by the week. I love the guy, but I don't know if he's made the best decisions consistently. He did do a pretty good job setting up the Blues for their Cup, though. That can't be understated, but I still think it's been more bad than good. Anyway, if I was a player I wouldn't be a huge fan of handing over my phone. Having said that, this is commonplace. The days of privacy are long over. Employers check social media accounts and everything nowadays. With technology, comes intrusiveness.

Bedard will score more goals in these rookie games than Lafreniere has in his NHL career.

If you haven't yet, I recommend watching the 'Wrestlers' miniseries on Netflix. It profiles OVW and how it is running a smaller promotion and it goes inside the people who run it (including Al Snow) as well as the wrestlers there. Really good insight and some drama. I completely forgot OVW was still around. Obviously it's no longer WWE"s developmental promotion and has been its own thing for quite some time. Any wrestling fan will appreciate this.

It could be, but he's going to try like hell to come back. Yeah, there's no way he wants to retire like this and have his Jets career last a few minutes. At the very least, I expect him to explore as many avenues as he can before deciding to end it.

Right, and hasn't he injured this before? You're not wrong about looking for the quick fix, but they still have awful luck, though. lol You have to think a trade is coming, no? Watch them bring back Darnold to back up Wilson or even to start.

It's officially a torn Achilles. He is done. I just got an NFL notification on my phone. Not surprising because it looked awful, but the Jets have the worst luck of all time. Did Joe Nameth sell his soul to the Devil for that Super Bowl or what?

Exciting win for the Jets, but I don't think it makes much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. It took four turnovers for them to eke it out. I don't see how you can be excited about another Zach Wilson season. They built up this team pretty damn good, and it feels like it's going to be another wasted season. That drive was about as Jets as you can get, though. Jesus. I remember something like this happening with both Vinny and Penington when the Jets were hyped up to be really good. Some of the worst luck ever.

Yeah, and they casted Idris Elba which I'm excited about. He and Keanu Reeves in the same game, in this type of game no less, is amazing to me. I actually didn't get super far in my playthrough because they were constantly updating it. So, maybe I should just start over at this point too, because I haven't touched it a long time.
