I'm about 100+ pages into A Game of Thrones now, and it's incredible how true-to-story the majority of the show has been to the book.

Only small differences, really, like Tyrion not having two different colored eyes, etc.

Even a lot of the dialogue is inherited, verbatim.

Tyrion is still funny as all hell in the book.

I just passed the chapter where Daenerys and Drogo consummate their marriage in the book, which was nothing like the way the show depicted it. Drogo "asked" in the book. He straight up took that shit, prison style, in the show.

Any word on when Season 2 would begin? I'd imagine we've got quite a bit of time between the finale and then, so with all of us reading, at least we'll still have reason to bump this thread every so often. :D

Yeah that was one of my major complains so far, that and that they stole the scene were Dany stands up to her brother for the first time and takes away his horse.

When the Dothraki Bloodrider whips him around the neck?

That happened in the show, too.

It happened only in the show, the book had Dany take away the horse not the bloodrider. Big difference, considering how much power he had over her until then.

@Rhommy

Sorry, right now I can't even remember the name the german version used. ;)

...,but accoring to Ice&Fire-Wiki you're right.

That's my guess too, but I'm not really sure which will take the larger role. It seems Robb will be taking a larger role in terms of hierarchy, but I have a feeling you'll see more conflict with Jon.

Jon's currently got the decision of loyalty to family vs loyalty to oath. Should be fun to watch.

Oh and he killed a zombie.
