As much as I might continually bring up everything surrounding his development (or, in truth, lack thereof), it’s on him. 
Irrespective of anything else, there are deficiencies that he needs to correct and improve upon.

And even in light of the circumstances he’s operated under, few of any of which have aided in his development or have helped get the most out of him, there’s shit he needs to work on.

If he made no improvement in his box cars (or analytics for that matter), but just looked more dangerous shift to shift, if you actually notice that he was on the ice for the game and made an impact... That would be a substantial improvement over what we've seen so far.

It's only his lack of progress that takes some of the heat off Kakko. We really ended up coming up small when we should have had two guys earning and shining in the top six by now, two cornerstones to lean on going forward. Instead we have hey can't judge them by where they were drafted and other spins on why they just have not been anything but jags one only a hair better than the other, who's work ethic is still questioned by guys who cover the team.
