Fuck yeah!!!  My boys!!!  I'm even taking Chytil under my wing.  I shit on him for as long as I can remember, and he made me eat shit this season!!!  Great Job, kid!!!

Win us a cup, and I'll drag my balls through 100 yards of broken glass!!!

Lafreniere has really looked for awhile now. I also thought, like a lot of the team, he was kind of snake bitten. He was creating, but not necessarily getting the results on the scoresheet. The same can be said with Kakko and Chytil. But, it's safe to say they're all trending upwards and it's great to see.

Gotta say....our impatience has been magnified 1000x with these guys. Happy to see them earn their successes through the trials of starting an NHL career. Hope we can keep em all. Congrats boys!!! Keep up the good work; set career highs And a championship? PLLLEEEAAASSEE!!!

(I'm not committing the same way as Oz but I'll def buy a round for all if this rings true)

This is why you have to be patient with young players. All of them are still in their early 20's (!) still. While I don't think they've necessarily done them any favors sometimes with line mates and such, everyone develops differently and at a different pace. At this point, you have to love what you're seeing with everyone.

Because the bar has been lowered. Notice how we're using phrases like "career high" instead of the actual numbers? It's because the actual numbers are pedestrian. Like these three have all been up to this season. Kakko still is and Lafrenière isn't exactly inspiring supreme confidence as a FIRST OVERALL PICK, when you see what Hughes is going across the river.

I'm glad they've developed into competent NHL players, but there's a whole lot of work to go to make right by their draft position. Kakko and Lafrenière, most especially.

I've come to grips with the fact that oour kids aren't Jack Hughes, or McJesus, or even Matthews.  They are however going to be solid NHL players for us for a long time.

I'm ok with their progress so far.  You guys can see it as mediocre, but I kinda have taking a liking to the fact that for the most part, with the exception of Chytil, they've been pretty reliable players.

They're only going to get better over time, and having them be a part of this winning mix that we've put together over the last couple seasons can only help them.  They're still very, very young players with a whole career ahead of them.  They'll get there!  You'll see!

Yeah, I mean I'm using career high because they haven't finished the season yet. Good chance Laf gets 20 goals IMO which would be a good feat for 3rd line minutes and only PP time in the last quarter of the season. Chytil and Kakko's production has slowed down. For 3rd liners, the production is alright.

Yeah, when people were saying for the Rangers to succeed this season The Kids needed to "take off", this isn't what they meant.

Congrats on their marginal improvements. Chytil is pacing 54 points, Kakko is pacing 42, and Laf is pacing 42. Hooray for mediocrity!

It was too early for this thread I think, but I would counter seasonal projections with looking at what these kids have done together since being put back together on a line on Jan 23. That's 18 games.

18 games sample size -> 82 game rate

Laf 9 g 4 a 13 pts -> 41g 18a 59 pts

Chytil 7g 6a 13 pts -> 31g 27a 58 pts

Kakko 3g 9a 12 pts -> 13g 41a 54 pts

Maybe that's still short of #1/#2 expectations for Laf and Kakko, but it's a lot closer to reasonable production given the minutes and opportunity they get relative to other high picks. It's actually really kind of interesting to see the point distribution between the players. Laf goal specialist, Chytil a mix of goals and assists, Kakko the playmaker. Maybe that's part of the reason they work well together.

Congrats to our #2 and #1 OA becoming middling NHLers after 3-4 seasons. It truly is magical. I'm glad we patiently waited for this.

If we wait 2-3 more years, I'm sure they will graduate from 3rd liners to 2nd liners with career highs in the 60s.

While Hughes battle for scoring titles across the river.

New Jersey was probably a perfect landing spot for Hughes. If he were in New York, chances are (probably a very good chance) that Gallant would fail to remove the training wheels, probably because he made a few mistakes that younger players make, and we'd be saying things like "cool, 10 goals, 15 assists, he's progressing very nicely."

We always go out and get the shiny new toy through Free agency.  Freaky how Panarin's deal ends same year McDavid's does, isn't it?  Where there's smoke....  😉

The draft seems to be a lottery ticket, no matter who gets picked.  Remember that scouting report I posted for Yukon a few months back??  Who in the fucking blue hell printed THAT??  It was nothing like what we saw in Laffy so far...not even close!!  LOL

We're the Rangers...we sign Free agents.  We suck at the draft!

...ahem...McIlrath??  What the fuck was that??  At least we ended up getting Tarasenko anyway, even if it is only for one Cup run!!!  LOL
