[RS] (#64) Rangers at Montréal Canadiens — I Want You to Put the Word Out There That We Back Up

It wasn't looking so wonderful early on, and what's freaky is that Fox and Igor showed a little rust.  Trouba played arguably one of his best games of the season, and it looks like the PP is headed in the right direction.

We get a road "W", 2 points, and head to Buffalo.  We will continue to work at it and become more responsible with the grenade....errr, the puck!

...And here are the Top 11 nominees for last night's “Ozzy Quote of the GDT”, sponsored by Canadian Strippers...they get frosted Donuts when Yukon scores!

Homie I know you're about to have a kid and how that can mess with you but those Montreal strippers are gonna go way further than just the tip.

You know how expensive child support is across borders?

Sure, if you take the 12 hall of famers off the Habs and left them with Guy Chouinard.

Kid Line's been watching too much porn lately or something, they look about as threatening out there as @Ozzy at a gay bar.

Great shot Jimmy.  You almost missed the CH on his chest.

You're missing the difference between a valid observation and a steady stream of horseshit.

I'm looking at this as a "work in process".  Yeah, it was a sloppy defensive effort, and that needs to be better if we're going to make it anywhere in the playoffs.  I have faith in this crew though!

We'll get there!  …and the winning quote for tonight’s GDT goes to the G-Man!!!  @LindG1000 who as one of our leaders, never misses an opportunity to give us some helpful life advice!!!  LOL

Would rather there be a longer OT and then failing in that, a tie. But the shootout is an embarrassment of riches for Gallant. Panarin, Tarasenko and Kane did not get on ice, though did not see who would have been #3.

I would rather both teams get a point, 3 on 3 is just a circus.

I think what we are seeing is Lindgren is possibly the most important part of this team. Would be interesting to see what our record has been the last few years with him out of the lineup. He is by far the best defensive defensemen we have.

Hard to disagree with this although I thought Harpur has been way better than expected.   I thought he was solid last night.  I also think Mikkola, with the right number of minutes and matchups, is fine.

Im calling a spade a spade... I have no doubt if we were all sitting around drinking and talking shit, you'd see where i am coming from. I dont get my jollies by provoking people or trying to make them feel bad. But i will call trash out when i see it

There's nothing wrong with calling out trash, we all do it. The difference is you only call out trash and you never say anything positive. If you're watching this team and you see nothing positive about it at all, then I don't know what you're looking at. The team has one issue, albeit a massive one, which is own zone coverage.

Of course people will sit there and say seems not tough enough, but toughness isn't requirement to win. People will say they don't shoot enough, but they don't really have trouble scoring.

It's okay to call out crap, and it's also okay to give credit when it's due.

Didn't we realize this last season when he missed playoff games?

Yepp. If they move on from lindgren then it’s clear drury has no idea what’s going on with this team. Gonna have to get creative and move someone we don’t want moved most likely.

even fox looks absolutely lost without him at times

Fox had a few bad moments last night, but there’s a pretty big difference between Lindgren and Mikkola. I don’t doubt that Lindgren is very important to the team, as I think they should trade Miller and keep Lindgren, but we aren’t sure what Fox would look like with a capable replacement instead of trash that he gets stuck with when Lindgren goes out.

Fair point on mikkola.

I couldn't see us trading away Lindy.  I love that kid back there.  If we end up trading K' for "salary cap reasons", the guy I'd want back is Xhekaj.  That's one tough mutha!  ...and he's a pretty damn good player from some of the games I saw him in earlier this season.

This was the best time to try out Miller with Fox. A wasted opportunity IMO.

Well then, let me finally welcome you to the club, fine sir.

Make yourself at home, and be a part of the finest, and most knowledgeable Rangers fans you'll probably ever find.  These guys are friends...my friends; we argue, debate, and sometimes see things differently.  But we all have a common bond, and that's to share in the fun and entertainment of being true blue Rangers fans.

So welcome aboard @goondman, and have a very long stay with us!!!

Glad you finally came around!  😃
