Yeah, I always pulled for him. I saw those hefty Charlotte scoring numbers at the start and really hoped he would grow into that. But it's been awhile since that flame went out.

Gotta give players that can score icetime. Roll with their deficiencies and utilize the things they do well.  

 

He's always had a great shot. Playing 8 minutes a night with Leschyshyn or Carpenter isn't going to help anyone in any way.

He played 10 minutes last night, on a line with 35 year old Derrick Brassard and Kastelic who has 6 pts in 44 games.

 

Technically, 10 minutes over 8 minutes is an improvement in TOI lol

You’re right he wasn’t a bottom 6 player and the trade works from that perspective.

Except there was room.  That gaping hole at RW in the top 6 was there all season and last.  He got like 8 shifts in the top 6 while here.

I believe Gauthier did good when paired with Goodrow and vice versa.  I don't remember the research done on it.
