I mean, you could. But you also would have a hard time proving that his introduction was the spark or that he's had a true tangible impact on the team.

Spoken like someone who really believes that a tossed helmet after a lost fight in a loss to the worst team in the league who was win less in 8 games was... The Catalyst™️

The turning point was regressing back to the mean, as I pointed out in a post two months ago that we were creating chances at a good rate and not converting them. We are now converting the chances and winning games because goals win games.

I keep looking at the list and thinking it is unlikely that the Rangers have 9 players better than Ryan Lindgren.  No goals but probably the best defensive asset outside of Shesterkin.

It's an exercise in recency bias. Lindgren is a guy who's steady, so you will see guys move ahead of him and drop below him because they're having hot streaks or cold streaks and he's just consistent.

If he goes on a heater then you might see him in the top five haha.

I mean,  it's more provable than saying Lafrenière had a good game, when he went scoreless,  and his line generated very little offense.

Miller and Fox had good games. Lafrenière didn't,  yet here you are giving him a participation award.

Good game? Seriously?

Oh that's right. He didn't collide with anyone in OT, sending the opposition on an odd man rush for the game winner.

Good game? Let's call it a great game.

Shut your mouth and open your eyes to watch the game and maybe you'll notice.

Pointless last 5. Not a good follow up to the decent streak of games he had. It’s back to normal for Kakko. Pacing 33 points.

Laf has made some chances but tons of mistakes as well. Lots of turnovers. Harpur's steadiness and simple game has made me reverse my decision.

Also moving Hajek down because he doesn't even play.

Outside of one crappy turnover that was lucky not to result in a goal, this was probably Lafreniere’s best game as a Ranger. I’ve never seen him that engaged, even during the 2nd half and playoffs last year. He actually looked like a decent skater last night too.

I don't care what kind of leadership he brings. This guy's contract is going to hose the team the next few years if they don't move him when they can. He has enough recognition around the league that there will be teams wanting him even at his current cap hit.

Schneider will be Trouba's heir apparent....and a much better one in my estimation.

@rmc51 I think you're right, dude.  Moving Trouba unlocks a ton of interesting possibilities!

We just have one more season I think, before that "modified" NMC kicks in.
