Once he works on getting the kinks out from his injury and getting some first line time down in Hartford, he should be alright. Develop these kids into studs, not throw the weight of the world on them out the gate. Laf is a #1 OA and should have some expectation but after Kakkos lackluster rookie season, a softer approach may have been more successful. Now we just hope he takes the next step in development. He's not a struggling player. Sending him down isn't boosting his confidence, even if he puts up 10 points a game. He has nothing to learn in the AHL. Neither did Kakko or Lafreniere. These guys need to learn at the NHL level. They have the vets to cushion, and the boys to protect.
