LindG1000 Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 In less than 48 hours, training camp begins! Physicals on Wednesday, on-ice on Thursday. Major questions: 1. Who will win the final D spot? We know that Fox, Lindgren, Trouba, Nemeth, and Miller are all locks, but there's fierce competition for that last spot between Lundkvist, Jones, Schneider, and Robertson. 2. The battle for the bottom 6. 3. - but who will it be!? 4. When will G1000 post the ballsy predictions thread? Perhaps the greatest drama of all. 2 1
Phil Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 1. I'd be floored if Lundkvist didn't take the 3RD spot. They cleared the decks for him. It's his spot to lose. 2. Barron is the real player to watch here, but this feels mostly settled, too. Basically, some combination of Rooney, Reaves, Blais, and Hunt/Barron. 3. Chris Trouba or Jacob Kreider. Watch 'em fuck around and Briere-Drury that thing and name co-captains. 4. Gonna go with Wednesday, September 21, 2021.

Honestly, I think it should be Kreider but maybe Trouba will be less effected at having the letter on his sweater.

Nah, more so just because they're both seen as likely candidates to be named captain.

I'll agree with Phil's answer: Rooney between Blais and Reaves 3. Fox gets the "C" 4. Ballsy predictions thread comes out 9/22 just to make Phil's guess incorrect on purpose. LOL

Cash or Czech Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 1. Lundqvist, but Jones rides the bus back and forth from Hartford all year as injuries come up. 2. Kreider-Chytil-Goodrow and Rooney-Barron-Blais, with Reave as necessary. 3. Kreider 4. September 29th at 2:32pm.
josh Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Jones' spot to lose. Far and away the best, most consistent player during prospect camp. No kids in bottom 6*. Might have a leftover winger with kakko/kravtsov but rest should be NHL guys. Maybe Barron makes someone expendable but not yet. Captain strome before the season starts, last day of camp Came here to complain about not balls threads
Phil Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Jones plays the left. Lundkvist the right. They're not competing for the same role. If Jones has a spot to pose, it's to Nemeth.
josh Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Most of those kids can play either side... not that I'd recommend it for a rookie Not sure about Reunanen, but I don't see him as an option. Too slow.
TwoMinutesForNothing Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Doesn't look like he spent too much time lifting weights this offseason.

siddious Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 He doesn’t look a day over 15 but yea those quads
Drew a Penalty Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Chytil has been one of the bigger gym rats over the last few years. He's spent significant time training with Kreider and Ben Prentiss. I'm not concerned about his strength. I hope he worked on faceoffs or I don't know...being smarter?
josh Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 This is a pretty bad interview. What do you want to do? Work hard Have you talked to the guys? Kinda to some What about lines? Enh, whatever Kids? Whatevs 23 guys, eh
