Sorry, but did you even read the article? Production isn't the issue so comparing point totals to Hughes is just irrelevant.

Hughes has the feet, the hands and the instincts that Kakko doesn't. All you need to do is watch them both to see the Devils have much less to worry about than the Rangers do.

Sheltered 3rd line and PP is throwing him to the wolves?

just asking, but if Hughes is so much better and has speed, hands and good hockey IQ. Whats his exucse for having a really bad season (production wise). He's played with Hall for some time, he's played 1st line and PP1, but still just 1 point more than useless Kakko?

most of the season he centered a line with the corpse of Simmonds and Wood. Pretty recently he moved up to play wing on a line with Nico and Palmieri. He's built like a pre teenage school girl. He's can skate but he's been entirely ineffective. Both these guys are terrible NHL players at this time. Imo neither are guaranteed to become what the narrative said they were going to be. Both should of spent the season in the AHL based on how bad they've been. Hopefully kakko improves and drastically next season.

When's the last time this kid smiled? He's clearly miserable.

If you started a new job and just couldn't recreate the magic, wouldn't you be?

It's the equivalent of hiring the wunderkind who graduated college in three years to run national sales. Might be exceptionally well suited, but there's growing pains.

Pretty clear the Rangers have royally fucked this up by allowing him to royally fail at the NHL level for no reason at all.

If they make the playoffs I doubt he even dresses.

now getting pulled off the ice for defensive zone faceoffs. Guess they're still throwing him to the wolves :)

he's -3 and counting for the night.

Using +/- when Georgiev was trash for the most part last night isn't a particularly fair assessment. Zibanejad scored 5 goals and was a 0. Lol.

Didn't he a nice shot on goal and Zig scored of the rebound

Yes. The body language is beyond horrible, but he has been creating and generating more and more chances. He is on the verge of producing more. Let's see how he does down the stretch.

He's looked better, but just hasn't scored. Needs to have a strong off season and forget about the troubles he had his rookie season.

Agreed. I've liked his game over the last few weeks - though last night was a defensive shitshow for him - just not showing up on the scoresheet. You see the potential in fits and spurts.

Physical rest, mental fortitude, skating coach, 10 pounds. Just get the numbers out of your head and get focused on 2020.
