[RS] (#71) New York Rangers vs Pittsburgh Penguins // Snap Back to Reality

I don’t get a chance to see as many NYR games as I’d like since I’m in FL for the winter. Usually rely on WiFi radio or SiriusXM. But the difference between this effort tonight, despite the miscues and uneven play, and the lack of urgency displayed in games I saw a month ago is like night and day.

And two points farther from the lottery. Winning any/many of these remaining games is just dumb.

As fans yes, but do you really think the players on the ice give a shit about the lottery? If they feel like playing nothing we can do about it

Luckily this draft is pretty damn deep, so we can still draft a game breaker at the 10th spot or even higher

Eh, you can get a good player. The game breakers are going top-five IMO.

And no, I don't blame the players. It's just frustrating to watch them winning meaningless games when losses get them that much closer to the kind of talent they haven't had a shot at since 1999.

Georgiev has ice water in his veins. That was amazing on the PS. Just stared down one of the greatest players and never made a move. Just stared that POS down.

And then point blank crosby in front of the net in OT. Are you kidding me?

On the bright side, if the team is hoping to attract a Tavares, then it is showing that it is far more promising a place to land — it's not a hollowed out shell by any means. there's skill, there's speed, there's energy.

HE did well to settle down after those two screened goals and give the team a chance to win. Mentally strong. Allowed his own team to turn the tide and put the pressure back on Pittsburgh — who could not handle it.

Alright, enough warbling from me. Good night punters.

Closer, but it still doesn't guarantee anything. They can finish lower in the standings and end up drafting in the same spot as if they didn't

Realistically most of the teams under us weren't going to pass us anyway. Unless they lost like 75% of the games going forward, they would maybe have moved up 1 or 2 spots max

It's not about a guarantee. It's about odds.

Also, don't discount the ability to move "up" (down) in the same manner the Flyers and Stars did last season. The idea should be to position themselves as close to the lottery as possible, to get the greatest odds at Dahlin, and the greater odds at moving up as close to him as possible.

I don't disagree with you, but there's just nothing we can do at this point except hope they can do the best with the picks they will have

I would be less hopeful if we didn't also have 2 other picks in the first round and the prospects we obtained from Tampa/NJ/Boston. Basically, deciding to sell in my mind kind of mitigated the failed tank. At least they did that part right

Travel for work up to Plattsburgh. I really enjoyed reading the roller coaster of emotions in this thread. Every GDT is beginning to exhibit the same feelings: Win please! No, no, no, please lose, I mean it. Damn that was fun. Love winning. Lose to get better.

The range of emotions is hysterical. Thx guys.

Guys, I got it figured out!!

I did a little experiment the last couple of games and besides the drinking game, there's a new LOCK on how to get that #1 pick for us....Check it out:

The last game we played against Carolina, I took Carolina and gave a 1/2....I lost...

Against Florida I took the Rangers with a 1/2 and lost

Before that...Against Tampa I had the Rangers getting 1 1/2...lost that too!!

The first time I tried this I had the Rangers getting a goal from Winnipeg....Loser on that too!!

Needless to say I'm taking the Rangers tonight getting 1 1/2.....

I'm taking the Rangers the rest of the way....It's a lock!!

Apparently you need to stop betting

Well shit, that was fun.

Why is Kreider not in the conversation for a letter?

Who would wear it for the other 72 games?

This is Krieder MO. He turned it on last year at this time to make his goal total impressive. He was pacing a 20 goal season until he went on a Zucc fueled tear to end the season.

If Kreids can stay helthy, focused and playing with an elite Center, there is no stopping him from being a 30 goals, PPG player.
You can say that about so many other players. Unfortunately there are only a handful of elite centers.

Yeah, but he is probably the only one on this team that has the potensial, maybe Buch aswell.

Just watched the highlights. Was Susan and Pierre making a pornvideo between the benches? ?Oooh, wooooow, oooooh? damn that must have been annoying listening to for 20 minutes
