  1. Dumb question but why did they give him jersey #18 on draft night? That's Staal's number. Hidden message?
  2. Feel similarly. Especially as it's a dimension we were kind of lacking. Now I remind myself he's only 18 and a frshman at Wisconsin and I'm just going to have to be patient.
  3. I know you're not one to rush, and this is not to take a shot, as I am also intrigued he has been more than holding his own in a man's league ... and I would not be surprised if his trajectory winds up like you call. But as an aside, I heard an interesting quote Friday night on the radio attributed to I think someone on the Knicks management, maybe Steve Perry, And I paraphrase from memory-bcs I can't provide a link: He said, "We are finally doing what a lot of Knicks fans have been asking for for several years, to rebuild with patience —after pulling the plug on it several times— but what I learned about New York is that while fans want the patient rebuild, the very next thing they want is for you to do is 'hurry up the patience.' " And that might be our NYR predicament fairly soon.
  4. The kind of sycophant blow-hard listeners he attracts I'm not sure I want to listen anymore. He was better as a duo earlier in his career until his ego increasingly swallowed the microphone. Can't listen to him anymore. bingo! I like his voice even less than the recorded sound of my own (which sometimes has to happen in recorded interviews) I hate it, and that's saying somethine.
  5. Kingston Frontenacs Eliminated Day's final Playoff stat line 16gm 4g 10a 14pts +2 Day's combined Reg season stat line 50gm 5g 42a 47pts -10 Maybe not the explosive supposed final OHL season folks were looking for, but he did produce in the playoffs. Might he be a player that rises to the occasion? There are signs he might -- see below. With more seasoning and coaching will he be able to solve the rep he has for making bad defensive reads, I don't know, but I would not consign him to the "fuhgeddaboudit" pile just yet. Give him time ...
  6. Good news. That OLine has been a problem for a while now.
  7. So apparently Sean Day is doing OK Let's not forget him NY with all the bright shiny new toys we have in the system.
  8. I guess this could potentially set up former teammates as intra-metro rivals if one makes the NYI and the other the NYR. Dayum. Would Putin buy a block of seats at both the xxx-oleum? and the Garden?
  9. Good to see you around Rhommy!
  10. Good to see you around Rhommy!
  11. Thanks for the heads-up on the trade, @Dunny Through the trade, Day was 27games 4goals 17assists 21points .77 points per game. Not too shabby at all. That's also an improvement over last season, when he was 0.55 points per game with the Spitfires. He has clearly been helping generate a lot of team offense from a playmaking perspective. To put it in another perspective, Shattenkirk is producing .59 points per game, so Sean Day was having a strong impact for the Spitfires this year. It would be nice if Elite Prospects could supply another update as their current one is 2 years old http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=228106
  12. Mr PhillyB ... I don't come to the bar room much thee days, as I am spending more time with wife and family and outdoors sports, (and freaking work) but I was absolutely thrilled to see this. I wish you a very happy life together! The young lady's face looks familiar, I think we've seen you post pics of her before, right? I raise a glass to you!
  13. Thanks for the update on Georgiev. The wife thought he looked good in the one game we saw him, once he got comfortable, even though he took a lot of flak from some fans on here.
  14. Aside from his goaltending prowess, the hearsay that he is a good puckhandler, too, also intrigues. These days, so many times Hank goes to move the puck I cringe ... all good I suppose if you have a robust sense of adventure.
  15. Same thing in this house as far as Sma vs. NBC announcers. I'll really miss Sam when he hangs 'em up. I like Kenny, but Sam has a vocal clarity and range that's very listenable for us. Kenny kinda sounds like he's got socks in his mouth, but it's a classic Albert tone.
  16. Looks like Sean is 2016-17 Mississauga Steelheads* OHL 5 3 2 5 4 4 2016-17 Windsor Spitfires OHL 56 12 18 30 20 13 Total: 61gp 15g 20a 35pts 24pim +17 Not half bad for the season. The kid has talent. I hope we can develop it. We could use a defenseman with his skillset.

  18. About a 9 to 15 in Nassau County. A lot of drifting.
  19. Looking good on the Igor Shestyorkin/Shesterkin front. I'm not going to lie, since the first video I saw of him, I have high hopes, so seeing positive updates increases the smile factor. https://www.nhl.com/rangers/news/rangers-prospect-report-gropp-ronning-huska-shesterkin/c-286333062
  20. And another video of the hat trick Njoi https://www.nhl.com/rangers/video/prospect-sean-day-nets-hat-trick/t-277437422/c-47030103?q=sean+day
  21. Thanks for the word. Sounds like good news and good timing, then. P.S. The King says the rest of the NHL's goalies can eat worms as far as he's concerned http://inderbitzin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/822-3-kh-neon-worms.jpg
