  1. He's a perfect fit, hope it happens! With retention. As I said in the other thread the throwing games stuff is trash, he had a career high in points per game last season.
  2. It's an 8% difference in zone starts, but their difference in relative corsi was a stunning 12. They don't correlate that closely. It would account for a slight amount of the difference. Even if it accounted for half, the difference is still huge. The fact that Goodrow started 64% in the offensive zone and still had a relative corsi of -3.6 tells you all you need to know. He's never had a positive one and his career average is -5. Ritchie's is +5.6.
  3. That wouldn't come close to making up that type of difference. They both started a large number of shifts in the offensive zone.
  4. Yeah, I don't doubt that, but it's still a risk. My point is that the Sabres are contradicting themselves. They are saying the surgery is too scary and he can't get it, but then they are also expecting him to have trade value, knowing that surgery is coming. They need to either trade him for crap or let him get the surgery and then trade him. His value will be restored after recovery. Their whole approach is why nothing has happened. It makes no sense.
  5. If that surgery is so scary for a team to the point that Buffalo won't let him get it, yet everyone knows he's eventually going to get it anyway once he's finally traded, then he really has no trade value whatsoever. He is going to get dealt for scraps eventually.
  6. Apparently Shesty didn't file for arbitration, meaning an extension is likely incoming.
  7. Put up almost a point per game and scored at the highest rate of his career. If anything I would say he was betting on his own team and working harder than ever to collect. The Sharks should tell him to keep it going.
  8. Based on analytics and possession numbers. Ritchie is exceptional, some of the most impressive numbers in the league. Goodrow is below average and in the negatives. And yeah Ritchie also scores at a better rate and is three years younger. He's a better player, he just didn't win 2 cups the last two years, which is an overrated reason to pay a guy. Maybe Drury didn't know Ritchie would become available when he made the Goodrow move, but if given a choice between the two, especially given the contracts, it seems like a pretty easy one. I'd also certainly take Ritchie over Reaves for two years as well. I don't hate Reaves but he showed big regression for the first time last season, which is going to continue.
  9. Trade the 19 year old with big offensive upside who also just finished as the 2nd best defensive forward in the entire NHL a year after being one of the worst? He should be entirely untouchable. Brooks is making shit up. There's also no way Buffalo retains 50%.
  10. Eichel makes $10 mil, needs surgery and currently has a broken spine. I wouldn't deal Kravtsov straight up. They would have to eat a lot of salary for that deal to make sense. Jones, Georgie and the 1st fine, but they still have no leverage with no place else to send him and we still don't need him because he is redundant.
  11. My twitter still won't work to get the link, but Brooks tweeting we're in on Ritchie after it is now unsure that he'll stay in Boston.
  12. It's still gonna happen with Danault. He's milking us for extra as we speak.
  13. Oh I don't know him, I thought I read earlier on twitter the he was big on the PK and good defensively. Maybe I'm confusing him.
  14. I'm seeing a lot of suggestions for 3C's for a board that was overwhelmingly sure that Goodrow was our 3rd line center based on the money he was paid.
  15. Is it too late the void the Goodrow contract? This guy is so much better. The underlying stats and analytics are off the charts for him where as for Goodrow they are all below average to poor.
  16. Strome and a prospect for Karlsson and Reaves and call it a day. More likely trade to come from Drury, Strome for Reaves and 4th.
  17. If he sees what Drury has done so far and then is actually approached to waive, which would be so stupid, I think he'll strongly consider getting out of here.
