  1. Great pick by the Habs. Great value there. Everybody just mad about something dumb a 17 year old child did. He’ll learn.
  2. As a grinder who can’t skate. That’s not who I want my team taking 16th overall. Get that later. Don’t need to watch him to see that. He sounds exactly like Lias all over again.
  3. I don’t care what he was ranked, he small, didn’t score and the scouting reports say his skating is bad. I haven’t seen him but he sounds like a bottom 6 ceiling, which is all we’re obsessing over. You don’t take guys who don’t have size and can’t skate this high in today’s nhl.
  4. He didn’t even score in juniors, he’s not big and he’s certainly not worth a mid 1st round pick. Keep rationalizing with yourselves that everything is going to be okay with this hand puppet at the helm. Things are going great so far.
  5. We picked a 4th liner. Captain incompetent at the helm.
  6. Anything but Lucious here is a travesty. We’re lucky his still there and we need a center.
  7. Lmao I don't recall ever comparing Kreider to Ovechkin, that doesn't make much sense because Ovi is not some great skater. Anyway, Kreider was drafted in 2009 so now we're going back 13 years. Okay. I didn't call anyone here incompetent. James Dolan is incompetent, that's fact. Look at the Knicks, look at his history. He never stepped in like this with the Rangers before, but now he has. He fired everyone here and hired Drury. It's not some stretch to believe that was an incompetent decision coming from a proven incompetent owner. You want to like what Drury does fine. If he does something I like I'll be the first to point it out. He has yet to do that. I hate paying Goodrow. He hits, and scores 20-30 points and doesn't even have good metrics or possession numbers. You could literally just tell Gauthier or Barron to hit a lot more and have them do the same. If the underlying numbers were good for Goodrow I would get it, but they aren't. So far I think everything Drury has done is worthless, but the fact that he may actually be pursuing Eichel is the icing on the cake. $10 mil a year for a guy with a damaged spine and giving up multiple valuable assets to get him? There shouldn't be a GM in the league pursuing that. He seems to be just like every other good ol boys club GM in the league. I was hoping for somebody with a different approach. Somebody who used their brains. So far I haven't seen anything outside the box from him. Hopefully that changes over the next few days but if Eichel comes here I think all hope is lost for this franchise for the foreseeable future, not just because of that decision, but because of the type of future decisions that will likely come with that type of leadership at the helm. And if you took an MIT grad that had never seen a game of hockey in his or her life he or she could have done a far better job to this point with the Seattle franchise than Ron Francis has done. It's been a travesty thus far, yet he was a good choice for GM. There's a whole world of people out there with superior intellect and we're choosing hockey players. It's comical. If you think these guys are the best choices then okay. I'm gonna go watch Moneyball.
  8. I’m not upset at anybody talking about this topic. You don’t like my hyperbole, but I was met with an analogy about a car and brakes and responded with one about a car crashing. I’m entitled to my opinion. I don’t need to be censored if I’m not insulting anybody. You didn’t like what I had to say so you responded by bringing up stuff from 10 years ago. I don’t need to come to a hockey message board for that, I can get it from my wife lol. Enjoy free agency.
  9. That was all like 10 years ago when I was way younger and my life revolved around hockey. I've barely said anything or cared about prospect lately since I got a life. I also never said much about any of those guys other than being good picks or good signings with potential. Not every prospect pans out, doesn't mean it was a mistake to bring them in in the first place. If you take that approach you can't succeed. Also it this Phil or has Pete hacked you? Crap like this is why is stopped bothering so much. I don't agree with what the team is doing currently. Has nothing to do with anything from 5 to 10 years ago haha. Seattle had their pick of anybody to be GM and chose Ron Francis. Good GM's zig when others zag. They find a different approach or a competitive advantage. Drury is going none of that. He's just doing obvious things that give no competitive advantage. It's probably just Dolan running things.
  10. Lol that was like 10 years ago and I made a car analogy just like the one that was directed at my opinion. I'm entitled to my opinion. I don't think Drury is qualified for the job and I believe overall in sports if you are higher ex-players as general managers then you are not hiring the most qualified candidates and you are not going to get the best results. There are people out there with incredible minds that could lap circles around the other paste easting GM's in the league and most teams lazily go with some ex player to run things. No shock we did the same considering who is making the choices.
  11. Oh and as far as the brakes on the car analogy. I believe we think we have places to go, but our brake guy rushed the job and they are gonna fail and our car is going to hit a brick wall.
  12. And I fully expect to trade Strome and Buch and then pay Blake Coleman $5 mil a year as well to try to recreate something we won't be able to recreate.
  13. Because he's a 4th liner imo. He projected to less that 30 points over an 82 game season last year. The only reason he's seen as more now is because he's now paid so much.
  14. Actually just looked it up and the rule, which isn't finalized yet says 20 games played is required from last year. He played 18, so that would suck.
  15. I believe they changed the rule yesterday and Cuylle will be allowed to play in the AHL this year because he played there last year.
  16. If you don't pay Goodrow what you paid him and have a guy like Blackwell on his contract it's much better value to pay $9 mil for Tkachuk. I don't think you should pay 4th liners. Fill that out with entry level contract and cheap vets that have the skillsets to do it. How do you let Fast walk because you don't want to pay him and now pay a grinder almost $4 mil on a long term deal? It's backwards.
  17. Well I'm pretty confident in Cuylle, so when he's ready in a year or two we're gonna be regretting the Goodrow cap hit as he's broken down. Other teams are laughing at this contract and Rangers fans are trying to rationalize it. It's the kind of contract for the type of player and in the age bracket that never ages well at all.
  18. I know they aren't, they could trade for and build around Tkachuk if this type of player is so important to them and then we wouldn't have to pay nearly $4mil for 6 years of a marginal player like Goodrow.
  19. Couple years. Or give up better assets to trade for a better, younger, cheaper version that is actually worth paying and signing long term. One that is actually worth building around. We have a top ranked system and there is basically nothing we don't have the assets to acquire.
  20. I would't have a problem trading for a guy like this if he was on Goodrow's previous contract. It's paying them that's the problem.
  21. Sign him at all rather then developing this type of player considering the other young players we will have to pay. It's a waste of money but whatever, he and Dolan are exhibiting no patience. I'm half sure Drury is just a hand puppet at this point.
