My wife likes iced coffee so I got her a cold brew machine for her birthday. OXO Good Grips cold brew maker. It had the strongest reviews and only cost $50. Takes 12-24 hours to make, you have to let it sit overnight to extract I guess. I got her some local beans with some interesting flavors from a roastery here in Shreveport that is supposed to be good. Their most popular flavor was Pecan Pie. She'll be opening it all on Weds so I'll report back. Oh and my mother was in Hawaii the last couple weeks and picked me up a bunch of different Kona beans from different plantations that I'm excited to get my hands on.

Hot garbage so far. We've played 4 games and thus far I've been unable to watch 2 of them. Got home from work all excited to watch, avoided the score all day and then log on to see the game is not there. Fuck them. Typical ESPN.

Not getting dragged back into this argument, but saying scouts make the picks is ridiculous. They present the players to the front office and the front office then chooses the players based on the advice of scouts regarding the types of players they are looking for. The scouts don't make the choices, they describe players and make cases for ones they like. Draft philosophy is up to those running things. If you can't see the shift in player types being targeted from previous draft to the most recent then there's nothing more I can say. This past class has continued to be underwhelming because their most lauded assets are intangibles. We have a top farm system because of the work done by the previous regime and thankfully they were able to get us Berard before they were dismissed. So back on topic, he's pretty clearly far above any player chosen in the 2021 draft and is looking more like a star with every game. 5 goals in 5 games played with 7 points and he's just a sophomore who only played 19 NCAA games last season. Also seems to have a bit more of an edge to him with 17 PIM, already topping last years total. Very exciting guy to watch rise up our system. Excited to see him at WJC this year.

Pretty solid win. Shesty looked great. I actually do like all of our players, I just think our team is poorly constructed and lacking skill and I don't think our coach does much. At the end the assistant was doing all of the coaching while Gallant was looking at his piece of paper and staring off into the crowd as he stood at the other end of the bench. Goodrow has been pretty terrible but I have hope he can do better even though I hated the signing. Trouba on the other hand is relentlessly awful.

Wanted to put this in the around the NHL section, but that thread was closed. Anyway, guy is lighting it up on the PP like he does. On pace for 164 points so far. Hell of a player.

Don't think I ever really looked at Goodrow's actual scoring stats until just now. His career high is 26 points and his career high is 8 goals. Now he's on our 3rd line with an offensive minded center with the expectation that it's going to be productive? How will it? We have very bad depth. He should be our 4th line center, but they paid him too much for that. Blais-Goodrow-Hunt Great 4th line. You don't need Rooney, rotate Reaves with Hunt when you need him. Play Chytil with Gauthier and Kravtsov and be an actual hockey team.
