  1. This is pretty shitty, but whatever. Hopefully he's effective for a couple years. I'll root for the player and not hold the contract against him. I'll hold that against Drury, who thus far seems more desperate and incompetent than our previous 2 GM's. He was a disappointment as a player here, so the same should be expected in this role.
  2. It's not 1 o'clock where I am yet so, just wait another 20 mins and it will probably start.
  3. Just because Strome is moved doesn't mean it has to be Eichel. I've seen some crazy rumors about Dylan Larkin as well. Or it could be someone out of left field.
  4. With his blatant medical issues I would think we would need to see them before we would even be able to negotiate a fair deal.
  5. Can't get my twitter to load to get the link, but Brooks just tweeted that nothing is close because we haven't even been granted access to Eichel's medical records yet. You can forget about a trade happening if that's the case. It would have to happen before the draft and there's now we our docs could comb through it in time. Good riddance.
  6. Soucy seems like a much better fit for us. Anyone know how his mobility is?
  7. $6.5 won't be fair value any longer if he actually spends a season playing on a line with Barclay Goodrow and Will Cuyle. I'm critiquing everything he's done so far, I simply don't like his protection list. Our bottom 6 center right now are Goodrow and Rooney who combined for 34 points last year. We had better have the best PP in the league if we are going to keep up offensively.
  8. We're going backwards in time. I don't agree with any of the philosophy in the first place and I think this all going to fail miserably, but that's besides the point. If Cuylle is actually ready then this makes this desperation contract even worse. Those line combos are awful, give you no offenses and waste Kreider who you are also paying a boatload of money. So far I think Drury made poor coaching choice, gave out a terrible contract and screwed up the protection list, so I think this whole thing is going to be a train wreck personally.
  9. For way too much money that is going to be a big problem in a couple years. How many guys do we have to buyout before we learn? It's a bad contract for a marginal player.
  10. To play wing and because they were close to winning a cup and didn't have to be committed to him into his mid 30's. Now they are correctly saying goodbye even after giving up the 1st because they are probably sickened by the price as well.
  11. Center is more important than the other spots on a line. If that wasn't true we wouldn't be so worried about centers or even discussing Eichel. If this guy with no offense is centering your 3rd line then you're going to have a pretty shitty 3rd line. If he's a wing fine, but then he's still overpaid and harder to justify the money. This was a deal done out of desperation.
  12. The Rangers aren't Tampa. If we were we wouldn't be trying to fix so many things this offseason.
  13. If Goodrow is a 3rd line center then how will we win games? That's a terrible 3rd line center. He has just 63 points in his last 207 games. He's a good 4th liner, though a horribly overpaid one now. If he's on your 3rd line you have a problem.
  14. I'm not a fan of Drury at all so far. This is just stupid. Guys like this break down around 30 and we'll have him for 4 more years after that. I also hate signing guys from cup winning teams because it over blows their value and normally makes them look way better than they are. They were just part of team that completely clicked to become the best in hockey and now your gonna have them in someplace totally different. Who knows what you get? This is a pretty big mistake for a marginal player. I would like to say that the money would hurt so bad if we didn't have so many buyouts, but contracts like this are the reason we do. Drury doesn't seem any different.
  15. Isn't the Rick Nash trade similar to this situation? Went for Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon, and 1st.
  16. I'm all in. Incredible player, incredible opportunity to buy low on top of his no trade, and very affordable price with potential for salary retention. It doesn't get any better. He and Panarin would be gods among men together.
  17. Don't know this guy but at 17:30 he says our current offer is Jones, Robertson, Buch, Chytil and #15.
  18. I'm a big fan of his, but I'll be shocked if he's still on the team.
  19. I met Jesper Fast once at a restaurant downtown a couple years back and I couldn't help but notice he was wearing platform shoes. I found it quite odd to see a man wearing these at the time.
  20. I would have considered him a solid 4th line option. Not top 6.
  21. Hadn't thought about him in a while. This makes me realize how much Gallant will love him. He goes from unwanted by soft ass Quinn to ideal piece for Gallant.
  22. I don't know if he would fit. His actual salary next season is $9 mil, meaning he will be looking for at least $10 mil per on a contract extension the following season. That's crazy money for another wing while we already have so many wings.
  23. We lose toughness and gain a player we can't afford. And Nils should be basically as untouchable as Laf, Kakko, and Fox are at this point and I'm pretty confident Drury agrees. He wouldn't have just signed here without the assurance he would play here. Otherwise he could have just waited a year and chose his team.
