  1. Let's get a British guy! Yotes are allowing Liam Kirk to negotiate with other teams and work out a trade since he won't be coming to play for them. Another Fox/Hayes type situation. Just put up 7 goals and 9 points in 7 games at Worlds. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/the-coyotes-have-given-liam-kirk-permission-to-speak-to-other-teams/
  2. Speculation is that Colorado won't be able to protect Ryan Graves. We could bring him back via trade and he'd be a much better fit at LD than redundant Zac Jones. Gallant would much prefer it since he's at the helm now. 4 big D and let Fox and Nils do their thing. Graves plays physical, skates well and is willing to drop the gloves. Trading him for nothing was one of Gorton's biggest blunders.
  3. Guy has no system. He just sends em out there claps his hands and says "let's go!" He's barely a coach, he's a father figure. The assistant coaching hires will be massively important now. Rumors of Girardi to coach the D are pretty scary considering his inexperience. The more I think about it the more disappointed I am we didn't go with Knoblauch after watching the team run through a wall for the guy. Hopefully he doesn't get poached out of Hartford before Gallant is fired in 2 or 3 years so he can have his rightful spot here.
  4. He's hurt way too much to begin with and is now going to have some sort of prosthetic spine made of pvc piping or something. Also we just don't need a center, especially one we have to give up multiple assets for.
  5. He won the Alton D Simms award for the most improved player at Michigan this year. Still some upside for a 7th round pick. Solid two-way guy ready for a bigger role next season.
  6. But he's a lawyer and she's a paralegal. They'll find a loophole again.
  7. Clarke was already taking a lesser role before this and rumored to be close to retirement. Bobrov was viewed as his heir apparent while JD was still here, now he's gone altogether. He was a good scout.
  8. Bobrov was the best guy we had working for us. This makes it seem like we just won't draft Euros now. I don't think I like where Drury is going with this.
  9. This times a million! Disgusting sound, like a sword being pulled out from a sheath with every bite. Makes my skin crawl.
  10. 4 point game today. Leads all defenseman in the tournament in scoring with 5 points in 3 games. He's a star.
  11. Being one of the best face-off guys in the league was the point of wanting him. The toughness needs to be addressed on the wing in that scenario.
  12. Could be easier to acquire according to this as well... https://zonecoverage.com/2021/wild/now-is-the-time-to-trade-jordan-greenway/
  13. Oh well I meant the if we switch a center for Strome then he needs to improve at least one of those weaknesses and I didn't see Kuznetsov improving any. I think Greenway is the bigger add if I had to choose one I could live with getting Greenway and sticking with Strome. I think it pretty obviously means Buchnevich doesn't stay here unless the package for him centers around Kravtsov. I could see either being appealing to Minnesota building around their own young Russian superstar in Kaprizov. Buch would explode paying RW with him. Greenway has obvious connections here, not just with Drury, but now with Mike Grier knowing him and having coached in several prospect games at BU.
  14. I didn't say he was tough, I think he's our center fix. In my personal offseason plan it would include trading for both Hertl and Greenway. Greenway brings size and toughness. I'd give up pretty much whatever picks and prospects necessary outside of the untouchables.
  15. He's got an inch and 10 lbs on him, but more importantly he wins 55% of his face-offs, which is one of the best in the league, as opposed to Kuznetsov winning 41%, one of the worst. That makes him a non-starter for this team. He's also 2 years older, makes more money, scored less over the past 2 years, and has off ice issues.
  16. It's hard to find a center out there that would actually make us worse on face-offs, but this is one. Doesn't improve anything we actually need to improve, which is size, toughness and draws. So I'd say no. Hertl should still be the top trade target.
  17. I could see Babcock coming in as an assistant as a way to rehab his reputation for the NHL. It beats coaching the University of Saskatchewan.
