  1. I don’t know, rumors today are that Buffalo wouldn’t allow Eichel to have surgery on his neck. And that was the last straw for him and he wants out. But the question then becomes is how bad is his injury and will it become a recurring thing. It seems like at best whomever gets him will be paying him to sit out the beginning of the year while he recovers for surgery should he need to have it. Excerpt from the Athletic: After a few explosive media availabilities with Rasmus Ristolainen, Sam Reinhart, and others this morning, Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel poured some gas on the offseason hot stove. The star forward not only left open the idea of a trade, but suggested to reporters including John Vogl of The Athletic that he and the Sabres cannot agree on the best way to treat his neck injury. Eichel suffered a herniated disk and explained that it’s not only up to him on whether to have surgery: It doesn’t work like that. I wish. …I’m under contract with this team and they definitely hold a lot of cards on what I can and can’t do. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  2. Maybe it was Dylan Larkin, I thought there was talk of him maybe being available. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  3. There’s a line and if “these GM” chose their side then so be it. If it’s me I’m gonna offer sheet players and force “these GM” to match offers and therefore screw their own caps or risk losing their star players and thereby lose their jobs because of it. 4. Looking at Skunkman thread: If They Fire Quinn, When? I can’t help but think maybe it’s not so much our personnel but our coach that just doesn’t like his players playing a physical style. Maybe if we hire a Head Coach who likes to play a physical style then our players will be allowed to. I see Rod Brind’amour is playing hard ball with Carolina on a contract extension. 5. Sorry, just saw my mistake. I meant Chytil or Kakko for Lindholm or Trocheck not both. Just take Blackwell out and put whichever 1 we don’t deal in Blackwells place. But as far as Lundkvist goes, we can’t count him as an NHL player just yet, pretty sure he will need to start the season in the AHL—I would think he needs to bulk up and learn our system. The reason I put Smith ahead of him is because he’s a vet. Reunanen, Jones & Robertson have ALL gotten a taste of our team/system having played games for us or haven been part of the taxi-squad. But Chytil or Kakko for Lindholm or Trocheck without giving up our 1st Rd pick( I’m really waiting to see more reports on Mason MacTavish—MASON MCTAVISH, C, OLTEN (SL)——McTavish, a young Canadian who has found success overseas while playing in Switzerland. McTavish is an intelligent center who excels at scoring goals below the hash marks due to his ability to play in dirty areas, use spatial awareness in the offensive zone to find open areas of the ice, and has a quick release on his wrist shot to score goals). Yes! Or cap wise we won’t have the money for Foligno, in that case Kakko or Chytil go in Folignos spot and Blackwell stays on the 4th line. 6. If not Lindholm then I would look at Carolina’s Vinny Trocheck, he’s cap hit is 4.75 mil for next year but his actual salary is 6.25 mil. and Carolina is one of those cash strapped teams so I would think we could get him at a slight discount because of it. Trocheck has 38 puts in 37 gms, 83 hits & a 55% face-off win percentage. The second guy I would sign Barclays Goodrow to be our 4th line center, he’s physical, has a 52% face-off win percentage and plays on the PK. Him or Sean Kuraly who is also physical and has a 50% face-off win percentage. The 3rd would be Nick Foligno because of physicality and veteran leadership With:Lafraniere-Zibenajad-Buchnevich, Panarin-Strome-Kreider, Foligno-Trocheck-Kravtsov, Blackwell-Goodrow-Gauthier Fox-Lindgren Miller-Trouba Any combination of Smith, Reunanen, Robertson, Jones, Schneider Not to sure what the cap will be because Foligno, Goodrow, Smith are UFA and Buchnevich, Lindgren & Gauthier are RFA. 7. I think part of our teams softness has to do with the coaching philosophy as well. But with that being said I would think Matt would be easier to acquire because of Calgary’s cap situation, they will need to sign 8 players with the remaining 15 or so mil. of cap room—-and this is not a big market team who spend the full team cap. 8. Play the kids in big spots: Lafraniere-Zibenajad-Buchnevich Panarin-Strome-Kravtsov Kreider-Chytil-Kakko Blackwell-Barron-Gauthier Fox-Lindgren Jones-Miller Reunanen-Smith Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  9. I guess this is Zac Jones’s opportunity to get playing time Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  10. Very true! At this point Brady has made his money, it’s all about winning and breaking records for now. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  11. What about Elias Lindholm? 4.5 mil cap hit, 26 yrs old, 52% face-off win percentage. Lindholm or Hertl( I know someone already said him earlier) Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  12. Beating the Devils is just false hope. We need to beat the 4 teams ahead of us. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  13. I like the idea of Lundkvist, Jones & Fox on paper but the 3 are all under 6’. So For me the hope is that Mathew Robertson(6’4” 200 lbs) & Brenden Schneider(6’2” 202 lbs) turn out better than expected. And Of course with Lindgren(6’0” 200lbs.), Miller(6’5” 210 lbs.) & Trouba( 6’3” 210lbs.) I think they are most keeps because size and grit matter. So for me, FOR ME Fox/Lindgren—Miller/Trouba—Robertson/Schneider would be the ultimate line-up defensively. So I guess what I’m saying is I’d move 2 of Fox, Lundkvist, Jones whichever one is the best, stays, the other get traded. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  14. I agree with Pete, you want to like him but he’s not what you want him to be. And think is a good idea to continue to stock pile prospects, picks, roster spots and open up cap room—yes Lemieux was only making 1.5 mil. but I think he was due to become a restricted free agent which only means an increase in pay. You have to think that the college free agent period is fast approaching as well and we could be looking a signing a player or two there as well. 15. You mean Quinton Howden ? He’s just as soft has Brett! Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  16. Brooks really has nothing to talk about, does he. Zibenajad is just behind after starting the season sick, COVID is no joke. He’ll get back to his old self in due time. Yes we have no 2nd line center, the jury is still out on Chytil and that’s Gorton’s fault knowing that we needed 1 or 2 but not making any deals, signing or drafting them. That why we are where we are. But I don’t think it’s worth the cost to trade for Eichel—they want too much. If it’s me I’m waiting till next year to go after Barkov as a UFA. We are not a team that will go far is we even make the play-offs so why sacrifice the future just yet. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  17. What about everyone else? I see the B squad has All of the guys who are more than likely to make the team plus Mathew Robertson. Does that mean he made the team? Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  18. According to Rick Campiniello the B squad is the ?our team?. In looking threw it I noticed Mathew Robertson is listed as the 8th d-man, does it mean he made the team? Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  19. Mikael Granlund, Sami Vatenen Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  20. It is a little weird that they updated their roster on the official website and listed Crawley and Raddysh as well as Bitetto but not Johnson. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  21. Not familiar with Jacques Martin defensive system but he is 68. Maybe Johnson is signed to help teach the system and be the 7th defenseman. According to Anthony Scultore of ForeverBlueshirts, the Rangers updated their roster on their website last night and neither Jack Johnson or Strome were listed on the roster but Bitetto and Rooney were. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  22. It that a two way contract? Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  23. Anthony Scultore of ForeverBlueshirts is saying that the Rangers updated their roster on the official website and that neither Strome or Johnson are listed on the team but Bitetto and Rooney are. As he says is it an over site or was it done purposefully. Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  24. Sorry pre-mature. Can?t be made official till 12 pm Sent from my iPad using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  25. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie ? Oct 9, 2020 Goalie market will be fascinating to watch today. One of the first signings to become official is expected to be Henrik Lundqvist to WSH on a one-year contract. The King has been UFA since being bought out by the NYR but can?t formalize the contract until today. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie If, as expected, the one-year deal is $1.5M, it would be fitting. That would make Lundqvist ?whole? on $4.5M salary he was scheduled to get for 20-21. $3M of it would be in his buyout from the Rangers (paid out over two years) but $1.5M would top him back up to $4.5M total.
