I know that the trade deadline, the end of the college hockey season and the KHL season all fall on different dates but I?m gonna go for broke and say we end up signing 1 or 2 college free agents and/or KHL players and putting them right into the lineup as a way of getting them to sign here and burning off a year, kind of what LV did with Gusev or we did when we signed Thomas Pock way back when. The only thing I can see from the cap is if we were to trade Smiths 4.35 mil. along with a pick as a salary dump would someone like Detroit who?s got a lot of cap next year and rebuilding, do it? Toronto just dealt with LAK for Jack Campbell and Clifford( some salary retained). It was for Moore and a 3rd Rd pick plus a conditional 3rd which can become a 2nd. All things depending like Clifford signing an extension or Toronto making the playoffs and Campbell win 6 regular season games. Are you really judging a 20 yr old? Really? Joey Keane was a 2018 3rd Rd pick, He?s 20 yrs old and his numbers in the minors, OHL have always been good. Where as Gilmour was a 23-24 yr old free agent signing. Gilmours numbers were never good throughout his minor league seasons other than 1 yr in the AHL when he was 25 yrs old. I understand what you?re saying but you have to look at Hartford and Joey Keane hes 6?0? righthanded finished 2nd in the fastest skater comp. at the AHL all-star game?even better than Kreiders time. The players Bray is mentioning in his article have to be included with a 1st because none are impressive enough for me to consider trading Kreider. i.e. Bennett and Jankowski plus a 1st or Puljujarvi and Khaira plus a 1st because the reality is both Jankowski and Khaira would be our 4th line players. And Bennett & Puljujarvi have yet to do anything in/at the NHL level. As a matter of fact, the more I think of it they are both shitty returns, so this article is completely B.S. disregard it completely just use the fact that we had 3 of our scouts at the Calgary/ Edmonton game period that it no more than that. I was looking thru the rumor mill and of course Calgary is looking for scoring but they are also looking for a defenseman. True Kreider has said that he won?t prove a deal to any of the Canadian teams but I also read that he and Johnny Gaudreau are friends having played 1 yr together at Boston College?don?t know about that but then again I don?t really see any good prospects that Calgary would have to offer so it has to be for someone other than Kreider. Only condition I put in that deal is if Kreider signs an extension we get Shane Bowers( he was Quinn?s 3rd leading scorer at BU?Greenway was 2nd and Brady Tkachuk was 4th that year?-Quinn?s last year there) added to the deal because at that point Kreider is no longer a rental.
