  1. This is why I'm a public servant and not a General Manager; prolly the best for the franchise but damn this stings..... I truely hope he finds a home and a cup.
  2. Happy to see that. Thanks for posting. MacTruck may be the only one from that era that gets his name on there considering where the rest of that core is at this point in their careers.
  3. Championship without fans is a sad day in sports. Happy for Tampa; wish Cally and G were still a part to enjoy it. Congrats NYR South!!
  4. What Strome did last year was a perennial season for Steps however the last two years have shown Stepan with a precipitous drop off. Better off keeping Strome for less and if he comes back to Earth and lives up to what he has done his whole career (30ish points) then hopefully we arent buried with a HUGE contract.
  5. You really think Georgiev is giving the Rangers that much more of a future or chance to win? We have already hashed it out that monetarily it is the same. I dont think Georgiev is that good that we have to buy out Lundquist. I just don't. Totality of the circumstance, to me? I'm keeping Lundquist and flipping Georgiev for picks or otherwise. Its not speaking from just my heart. It is speaking from a business sense and my heart. What is the downfall? Pro and Con? What pro is there with keeping Georgiev that isnt there with Lundquist?
  6. Buy him out and I hope he goes to a rival, Isles hopefully. He deserves to backup Shesty for his last year. Georgiev is not a hot commodity nor that good to command ruining the face of the franchises legacy. We arent competing this year folks, let the King ride out his contract and pick up his 20 games next season. I dont even understand the idea of otherwise honestly. If georgiev was better than average, then we would talk but he isnt. Slightly below actually compared to the stats posted earlier in this thread. The Henrik chant in the last game of next season would be memorable for all. This franchise will disappoint me significantly if he doesn't get a chance to say good bye to the MSG crowd.
  7. Maybe I'm in a boat by myself but I just don't think Georgiev is that good. Let Lundquist back up Shesty. This buyout stuff is garbage. Trade Georgiev with our late round pick to upgrade somewhere or move up in the draft.
  8. I was narrowing the field a bit, but what I meant was a Ranger pick that spent his entire career as a Ranger and then retired.
  9. If Lundquist hangs em up.... You guys are much more educated and knowledgeable with Rangers history than I. Best all time career Ranger draft pick??
  10. That was a really nice way to say we have become a bunch of pansies. To keep the thread on track though; it would be nice if Buch became expendable prior to getting paid!
  11. I don't like this idea. Give me Strome and let the kids fight for the bottom 2 Center spots. Chytil is going to slot up; I just have a feeling.
  12. Apple products. Never have supported this company and never will.

    19 years

Though the politics are divisive in this election year, we cannot forget the moment where nothing else mattered than the well being of the US citizens and those in NYC and the surrounding area on this day, 19 years ago. My condolences to all who lost someone they knew or loved; for everyone else, take a moment to remember where you were when the plane first hit the WTC, and then remember the everlasting memories and photos of the chaos that ensued. God bless everyone whom was there and witnessed 9/11 or the days following. That feeling of patriotism afterwards, I will never forget. NYC is and always will be a special place and this day will never be forgotten. Stay safe everyone and feel free to share stories. I was in 4th period Spanish class, sophomore year of high school when a kid came in and told us a plane hit the WTC. We spent the rest of the day watching the television in the only English classroom with cable. Kids left through out the day. So solemn. I'll also never forget my next trip into NYC for a Rangers game; My pop and I took the Weehauken ferry and Ill never forget the glass wall facing Manhatten being plastered from floor to as high as one could reach with missing posters for loved ones.
  14. Georgiev and our first to move up in the draft?? Anyone ahead in need of a goalie?
  15. Granted lower population up north but why doesn't Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont house a team? I'd think that would be a pretty dedicated base.
  16. The draft in general is an educated guess. Sometimes things don't pan out....Hugh Jessiman, Dylan McIlrath, Bobby Sanguinetti....Good God, thankfully we got a bit more educated as of recent (kind of.....Lias Andersson)
  17. I get your thought process but.....thats top 2 center holes in this roster.
  18. Games played should be factored in when quantifying and qualifying those stats, to be fair.
  19. Tkachuk and 3rd OA which would yield a center in Byfield or Rossi. Im talking and yea, id do it. We will fill a hole at center, upgrade on the wing and address our toughness issues. That trade puts us right in the mix moving forward. Some D seasoning over the next season or 2 and voila, we are right back near the top of the heap. (Finger and toes crossed)
  20. Lundquist had handled this as the ULTIMATE Professional. This organization has some goalie prospects; trade Georgiev and let Hank backup Shesty this year. Seems like a no brainer. He is a serviceable backup goalie and I hope this is the path they take.
