Need a few weeks of practice time, but Kane looked old and slow. Group obviously has a lot of 2015 Star Power, but pretty pathetic just whipping cross seams all night. That's cool against garbage in November, but they'll have to find the will to play in the middle of the ice. Panarin won't find that will, btw. Playoff success will ultimately be up to Zibanejad and Shesterkin, as always.

I'd say that this going pear shaped is the probable outcome. Core forwards are a completely random group of players. Mostly very soft. Very weird mix. Half of the top 6 are just names that were available, so we gobbled them up. However, it's fun so let's see how it plays out.

I find the product unwatchable. If it wasn't for the Rangers Fandom, I wouldn't watch a single game. Yeah, the players are unfathomably good. So what? The people driving the changes that brought NHL hockey to this point, got exactly the type of game they envisioned... and nobody cares. They never understood, or embraced, what made made the game special, they turned their back on it, and they've ruined it. I'd rather watch the Devils trap a team in to oblivion, knowing there was a chance a player bench may be thrown on the ice by a coach, then watch whatever this sanitized sporting equivalent of an all white IKEA kitchen has become. Where's my circus? Still love the game. At the rink a minimum 10 hours/week. Love going to OHL games and PJHL games, but whatever this league has become? Yawn.

I landed on Dolan, as well. As I understand it, they still did all the extra curriculars, just no jerseys. I'm generally with Pete on this.. who actually would go to see them in pride jerseys? How many could it be? A dozen? To those few I'd say, I've shelled out hundreds of dollars to see them sit Mike Richter and play Guy Hebert or Kirk McLean. Thems the breaks. I'd also have to pin some of the blame on the forever adolescents that are obsessed with jerseys. This is partially on you, and supports my adult wearing jersey thesis from a couple months ago.

I dunno. Sad, is how I see it. His views are antiquated, but generally standard fare for his generation. Not really complicated in my view. Probably not the smartest guy. I met him a couple times as a kid at Old Timer travel tournaments in the US. Was clearly hammered all weekend, but friendly and in good spirits. Months after one of those, he rang the house, I picked up, and he wanted to talk to Dad. Dad had a puzzled look when I handed him the phone... he was selling time shares lol. Very sad.
