  1. i hit the trotz button...but can agree its probably too soon. also, im not big on an overly defensive scheme. I want to see the Rangers that came storming out of the gate the first few games, looking like they were going to drop 5 a game this season. but you can't argue with a winner.
  2. Yes - put the kid line back together. Never mind the top 6 plug ins...thats on those vets to figure shit out.
  3. We saw this team go through a bunch of ups and downs last season so its premature to right em off...but...even if they do turn it around, its likely theyd just slump at some later time...or in the playoffs. So what other cards are there to play if not Trotz.
  4. Probably need to stick with GG as long the Rangers remain in playoff contention/on the bubble...so as not to be rash and risk a coaching turnstyle. But if they do miss the playoffs...or even a disappointing playoff performance...the axe is perfectly fair game.
  5. if panarin could finish and snipe as good as his vision/skating/handling...he might be the best player in the world...for what its worth.
  6. Well the window is basically now...personnel wise this team is not getting much better without breaking it down and rebuilding, so if drury starts to doubt gallant is the guy, hes gotta consider making a change sooner rather than later... ESPECIALLY for a guy like that
  7. The kid line needs to be given another shot while the other 2 lines try to figure sht out with whomever gets plugged in. In any case, ill say this - i will never buy that this team doesn't have the personnel to be very good, so if the season continues to go sour, gotta lay the blame on coaching.
  8. just about the only guy i saw some passion out of was Halak breaking his stick after the L
  9. lets not get carried away here...I think we can at least start to make an informed judgement after a full season (rather than 189 games)...and certainly if a playoff run gets included
  10. well lets put pace aside for actual gross production. Strome has never broke 60 points here. If Tro stays healthy and puts up 70+, I'm counting that as a significant upgrade. But even moreso - lets tack on playoffs and see how that plays out. Strome's production was abysmal last run. If Tro duplicates his playoff performance here or exceeds it, I'm booking him as a SIGNIFICANT upgrade, no ifs ands or buts.
  11. im fine if we just boil it down to production...goals/assists/total points. and from what i've seen thus far, i'd be pretty comfortable betting that Trocheck will produce significantly more. i'll predict he basically keeps his current pace for the full season for at least 70+ points.
  12. I think Trochek is a much better player than Stromer...on 'another level'. Just wondering if there are any objective stats/results on the go forward that would prove that out in your eyes.
  13. Fair enough. But are you actually willing to put some sort of stake in the ground...anywhere you like...that we can revisit at seasons end to determine how the players compare?
  14. Sure...name a stat or two... Lets say Tro averages a ppg this season...would that be enough for you to admit "hes on another level" than stromer? Would any objective result over the next season or two sway you?
  15. Is there a particular objective result on the go forward you could agree would prove "Tro significantly > stromer"? What would that be?
  16. Moving Laf back down to 3LW next to Chytil could be the most effective adjustment
  17. we'll have to wait and see how the stats play out this season, but i've seen trochek knife through defenses a bit with the kind of authority i rarely recall seeing from strome. and he's buried scoring chances in a way i rarely recall seeing Strome do. "plays with more confidence" : i mean we're making those kind of judgements all the time. Kakko, for instance, I think is obviously playing with more confidence this season. Panarin is skating and carrying the puck with a lot more confidence it seems as well. I suppose you can look at various advanced stats to back it up, which admittedly is outside my wheelhouse.
  18. Tro doesnt just shoot more than strome...he actually hits the net... consistently. And not prone to choke on wide open chances. He plays with a ton more confidence than strome. Looks a tier above to me. And nevermind the regular season, if above carries through or is even amplified in the playoffs, its a blowout between the two.
  19. would rather have someone like Blais for the next 5 years than goodrow.
  20. wow - i did not expect trochek to be this good. legit goal scorer and top 6 offensive talent. full class above strome.
