great...a slapshot...he'll probably get a chance to take like 5 of those all season... a quick release/angle changing wrister is what he needs to be practicing

Big Zibanejad fan here - but I actually think he'll be better off without the pressure of a C. He can focus on his own game...especially putting pucks in the back of the net and raking in the points. 40+ goals and 100 points please.

Miller's ceiling looks scary high...a few plays last season had me foaming at the mouth. Well see hiw this season goes, but right now, ide prioritize him.

As long as he doesnt whither under the pressure...cough...mcdonough..cough, then great. And ideally he takes his game to another level while obliterating the f' out of opposing players night in and night out.

For all the underperformance thus far, its not like he's a guy whose doggin it. You can tell he wants to be great. That's a guy you stick it out with for another two years.

Which is also the position we seem to be in with Chytil now...if he builds on his playoff performance and starts to really breakout, i guess he'll be done here.

Ide still bet on him developing onto a legit top 6 player with the associated production. Whether its in the next 2 years in ny is maybe less certain.

If Panarin's contract is up for question, its only because his most recent disappointing playoff performance. And given he lived up to the bill the first two years, I'm giving it this entire coming season/playoffs before passing judgement. If he's at his best, he'll be worth it.

Yes - I get that. And its worked well for the most part. But if Lafreniere is ready to take the next step now, he could help carry a strong second line. Though I'd be happy if they put out 3 lines all as a scoring threat.

GG seems to be a pretty hands off coach. So it seems like these are just guys who have played well for him in the past - rather than fitting into some very specific mold/style/philosophy.

Thats another thing - Kreider-Zib did not click with anyone last season the way they did with zucc/buch. I could see panarin being a great fit there. Possibly Kravtsov but thats really an unknown

Why isnt panarin given more consideration to move over to rw on here? Hes the one guy i could see adapting well.

Its all about the Panarin effect. IF Panarin gets back to his previous self and rakes in the points all season long, 30/70 for Trochek is a possibility. Thats all. Fair to doubt that outcome, but regardless...some of us just don't like Strome...maybe its his face.

Well find out this season how 'unjust' the strome shade was.

we know what we had in strome...and it wasn't enough. time will tell what we have in Trochek but it seems like there's a good chance its an upgrade.

Half joking / tongue in cheek...but there performance during parts of the playoffs couldve raised some questions imo
